I let my sister use this after her double mastectomy surgery last week. She has trouble using her arms due to the involvement of her armpits and chest from surgery. It’s easy for a caretaker to put the gown on her without causing her pain and without any involvement required from her. I don’t know if it is part of the design, but her only complaint with it is also one of her favorite things about it. She is about 5’7 and about 115-125 lbs and she said that it’s a little too short to wear in front of people outside of her husband and children, so while it does go down just enough to cover her butt, it doesn’t offer much more in the form of coverage. On the other hand, and her favorite part about it, she found out that if she doesn’t wear anything underneath it, she can go to the bathroom by herself because she doesn’t have to lift the gown to keep it out of the way. I am 5’10 and I am pretty sure this length would be more like a long tank top on me and would not cover my butt past about half way. So I suppose I will get another one and just go up a size or two to assure a proper amount of coverage.

I ordered a size 2x in this Deyeek Post Surgery Sleeveless Dress because I wasn't sure if it was going to fit more snug than I like. It fits nicely with plenty of wiggle room to spare (a bit too much room actually). I should have ordered a size XL (which is my normal size [women's 16/18]) because the neck area falls when I move around exposing my port incisions. So, I would say this dress is true to size based on this experience. I like the cut of this dress. It has a pleasing look and doesn't look like a hospital gown. I paired this with a plaid button-down shirt (since it was cool out) and it looked like normal clothing. I was able to remove my plaid shirt and the nurse was able to flush my permacath and change my dressing without issues. Because the shoulder of the dress comes completely open, there was no obstruction for the nurse. The material is soft and stretchy. I actually wore the dress all day even after returning home. I liked not having to carry an extra shirt with me to the infusion center to change into. I was able to receive services without having to undress. I just wish it had side pockets.

I am so glad that I found this post-surgical dress with the velcro shoulders. The velcro is sturdy and soft and seems to be holding up well. The snaps on the sides are quite convenient, should one need the access to your abdomen, side, etc., and still be able to maintain your dignity. I purchased this dress as a nightgown but after receiving it and seeing the quality of the fabric (think heavy weight T-shirt), one could easily wear it with a pair of shorts or pants underneath. I think it would be okay with a pair of yoga pants too. It washes very nicely and comes out of the dryer wrinkle-free. The size seems to be appropriate. I bought an XL and it is not huge on me. The length is nice for a dress. It isn't too short and not too long either. The reason I gave it four stars is that the snaps are a bit hard to snap. It might just be me, but if you are purchasing this dress, you might have an issue with them too.Overall I am very satisfied with this and I am glad that I am prepared for surgery.

First, I absolutely love this for anything hospital related. FINALLY, a vendor that understands that if you're in the hospital, you have an IV line, and the only way to change clothes in that circumstance is to have shoulders and arm openings that open ALL THE WAY. Otherwise you need a nurse to help you, and if you'e going to have to get a nurse to help you, you might as well wear regular clothes. With this top you can change clothes yourself, which, I can guarantee you, will do wonders for your mental health (been there, done that). The fabric is soft, comfy, and delicious. I am fortunately NOT in the hospital at the moment, and instantly realized that this will be great for camping and/or the gym, in that when you get out of the shower you can use this as like a wrap. With all the openings you can still put on your lotion, deodorant etc. without flashing everyone in the locker room. I love this and it would make a great gift for anyone who is hospitalized or on home IV therapy.
