I used this to terminate ducting added to a range hood that was blowing into the attic. It was an easy installation with no problems- venting through the roof wasn't an option because of the location so this worked well for venting through the wall.The only problem I've found with this type of vent is that moisture accumulating on the flaps can freeze them together in very cold weather, although so far they've broken free after running the fan for a couple of minutes. In colder climates it may be worth rubbing some silicone spray on the edges of the louvers before installation if it will be located higher up on the wall.

The vent is the perfect size but it had an inner flange that I needed to cut off in order for it to fit flush against the exterior wall. This is no fault of the company as my dryer vent opening was designed for a flush mount vent. I am totally happy with my purchase and after a slight modification it works perfectly.

I could not find one of these at local home improvement stores, so I was thrilled that this was available and inexpensive. It's the same brand as those sold at Lowes, so it matches most other vent covers.

Since my two year old Vent Cover flaps came loose, finding this Deflecto Vent Cover was a perfect replacement. It's much thicker and looks like it may last more than two years.

I was trying to replace a 4 inch Deflecto dryer vent cover. The cover that I ordered was described as 4 inches, but was actually closer to 6 inches in diameter. It absolutely did not work!
