This is a great portable decibel meter with a really large range. The best thing though is it's about half the size of the one it is replacing, making it extremely portable. It is also usb-c rechargeable, and not a battery hog like our last one. That's just the standard stuff. Functionality wise, this thing is a powerhouse. When connecting to a computer you can get all sorts of data and analysis. This is really an incredible find that I can't suggest enough for musicians, sound engineers, DJs, or anybody who has to be aware of decibel levels, at an extremely reasonable price.

Keeping the volume consistent between speakers can be tricky, especially when some speak louder or have their mics in different spots. This meter helps by recording the highest decibel level, so I don’t have to keep watching the screen. It also has a rubberized grip, USB-C charging, and a simple display, making it easy to use and hold.Another great feature is the ability to switch between DBA and DBC, though I mostly stick with DBA. The FAST and SLOW update options are useful depending on the situation, and the compact size makes it easy to carry around. My only slight issue is that the bottom isn't perfectly flat, so you have to be careful if you want to stand it up.

Working in tech and surveillance, one of these sound meters occasionally comes in handy. Right out of the box you have the meter, charging cord with no block, and the sponge ball to help isolate out wind noise.Pretty simple to use and works well. Sound readings lined up almost identical to another meter I have already that cost quite a bit more than this one. Can also be hooked up to a computer for data logging which is only as good as how good you are with filtering and sorting spreadsheets. Nonetheless this sound meter works as described and feels pretty well made but as with all tools it’s best not to drop. Just under $40 this is a pretty competitive and good deal. Would buy again and would recommend.

This is a rechargeable device that measures the loudness of sounds in decibels. One really great feature is that it gives a linear visualization for the sounds to show you whether it's not loud at all, loud, or very loud. The visualization is really nice because sometimes just having a number doesn't quite help in understanding what the numbers mean or represent. The service being rechargeable is awesome so I'm not having to find specific batteries. The device as a whole is compact and there is a soft cover for the microphone. The cover is basically a pop filter. If sound is at all a concern than measuring the loudness is essential to determine how to mitigate the sound to protect your hearing. This device is a fantastic value as an option and I can whole heartedly recommend it.

After charging with the included USB cord, you an easily measure sound levels of anything. We use it to shoot different bows for archery and see which is the quietest. Has peak level hold which is what we use most. Also has a hole on bottom for a tripod stud. Bright screen with many colors and easy menu options make this a very nice decibel meter.

This decibel meter is just what I was hoping for. I will often operate a sound board for events in a church, and sometimes it can be difficult when teaching soundboard operators to pay attention to the speakers loudness, and to ensure consistency between speakers depending on where their lavalier is affixed or how loud they talk. This meter ads an extra measure (no pun intended) of consistency by allowing for uniform measurement between soundboard operators.A few features I like...1. Being able to record and hold the max decibel, so you don't have to stare at the little screen every time something gets loud.2. Ability to switch between DBA and DBC, though I will most typically use DBA.3. Rubberized grips on the side for holding4. Built in battery with USB-C charging5. Ability to switch between FAST and SLOW live monitoring updatesThis really is a very simple to read unit. It does have a recording feature, though I don't know that I will use that frequently. If there were one thing I'd change, it would be to make the bottom a little bit flatter. This unit will stand up on it's own (on a sill or ledge), but you have to take care when positioning it. The bottom has some curved edges, and a relatively small flat spot.Pleased with the simplicity and text size. Does just what I need and does it well.
