Using our dual ceramic bar design, these pickups introduce a new and unique voice for PJ style basses. These passive, hum-cancelling pickups are engineered to deliver higher output versus traditional passive pickups and are characterized by their full-bodied tone, rich sustain, and even dynamic response. A great choice for any player looking for a new dimension in sound. The DCB 4P/J-HC set are a direct replacement for Fender P-Bass® and Jazz® bridge pickups.

Used this to also replace the pickups in my fender aerodyne. Bridge pickup is way better, much fuller and higher output without the hum, while retaining clarity. Surprisingly I found the p bass pickup to be kind of a side step, definitely has more lows and fuller mids but the stock pickup seemed to have a little more high end clarity going for it. The fact that both pickups are noiseless now though really opens up the bass. If I want a p bass tone with just a little more high end I can dial in just a smidge of the bridge pickup.

So far, I am impressed. I swapped out the stock electronics in my Fender Aerodyne, which had great lows but muddy highs. I replaced the insides with CTS 250 pots, an Orange Drop .047 cap and swapped in the Aguilars. The fit was VERY tight, but it did work (though adjusting the height on a going forward basis is going to be a pain). I was ticked at myself for foregoing shielding (by accident), as I removed everything anyway. But it turns out these Aguilar pickups really are noiseless (the stock Fender pickups were a little noisy), so shielding really isn't necessary. I'm still trying to find the low end I like (I'll get there eventually), but my immediate reaction was thumbs up on the mids and highs: very articulated and clear, but you can control the "guitar-y" sound by rolling down the tone. They definitely will take your bass up a step or two. Edit: the other thing I will add is that, for recording, they are VERY good. They have enough juice to deliver an articulated sound, which then allows you to push it back in the mix. In terms of tone, my own experience is that they deliver a smooth mid and upper, but where they really appear to shine are on the lower strings. Not quite "dark," but rather powerful. I was surprised how far in the direction of the EB-1 line these lean--woody, clear but very firm underwriting of your phrases--- though you can still get that P-bass "bounce" if you try. I also hear quite a bit of Geddy Lee-style J-bass in there, if that helps as a referent.

Love these pickups! Just installed them in my Squier Vintage Modified P/J bass. They sound great in this passive bass. Plenty of classic vintage tones, and able to dial in some great funk and rock tones too! This set DOES have the Aguilar logo on them. (see photos) For some reason, the product photo shows them with no logo. Even their website shows them with no logo.I'm glad they have the logo because they sound so good I'm happy to tell people what they are. The logo is inlaid in shiny silver paint, not white. The leads are the cloth push-back wire. I only wish the connection point of the leads was more solid, as I was scared to death the lead would break away from the pickup before I got them installed.

I bought these pickups for my Spector bass and while the bass had to be routed a bit on the neck pick-up I am extremely happy I'm buying another set for my other Spector bass these pickups have a great fat bottom without losing their sharper tone. The mids are punchy and the highs clear and distinct. I would recommend these to anyone looking to upgrade their pickups!

I just put a set of these into my Warmoth and had a chance to try them for the first time this past weekend. I'm running them passive, V-V-T with a .047 cap. I replaced a set of EMG's w/BTC preamp. They do have a nice high end, but my preference is with the highs rolled off about 30%. I don't care for a hi-fi sound - I like more of a vintage vibe. These pickups are pretty hot - lots of output. I liked the neck at about 85% and the bridge at about 70%. It gave me a very solid, muscular bottom with excellent definition. Being the bridge pickup is hum canceling you can dial in any ratio of pickups without any concern for noise. The bridge pickup is very evenly matched tonewise to the neck. Its tone is not as thin as a regular single coil and dialing it in doesn't provide treble so much as an upper mid grunt. The tone control gives whatever zing you want to add. The mid presence is excellent.I used this bass with a Thunderfunk 550B/Baer ML112 and a GK800RB/Aguilar GS212 with the tweeter rolled back. Both gave me excellent focused low end with a nice punch that cut the mix easily. I used very little EQ in both cases and got exactly what I was looking for. It really sounded very smooth. I had a new set of Dunlop 50-110 nickels on it and the E string was like a hammer - real kapow. I hope it stays that way when I go back to 105's.I am very happy with this set so far and feel they fully meet my expectations, easily producing the tones I want for the stuff I play (50's & 60's, Classic Rock, standards). They sound very rich and organic. It looks like Aguilar really thought their pickup line through.
