3 stars for the categories value, packaging and durability. Bearing in mind, this item is for a customizable Christmas tree ornament. I bought it for the size- to make a chocolate breakable on a New Year's Eve cake. It kept breaking when trying to separate it- because we'll it should stay together. I ended up filling both halves and heat sealing them together which caused a ridge on the outer surface. I imagine it would serve better as a tree ornament. LOL.

Item Description says 12 pieces, which I assumed meant 6 clear acrylic balls (2 pieces each). The quantity I ordered was 1 because I didn’t need more than 6 put together acrylic balls. In my package was 2 pieces or 1 Ball. When I reached out to the product support I was told the manufacturer went out of business awhile ago and they do Not troubleshoot issues as this is all on Amazon selling them.Buyer Beware. You aren’t getting 12 pieces!!! You are getting 2 to out together to make 1 Ball!!!!Go to Michael’s Craft or Hobby Lobby and buy them for less money and get the correct amount.

First off, I did not use the ornaments for, well, ornaments, but to make a glowing blue "plasma-sphere" for a headphone stand - although this means I can speak to the durability better.The plastic is a good-quality acrylic type, hard and smooth but slightly flexible. It looks and feels professional, but can still scratch over time. The ornament would crack before it would bend (I ended up chipping a small piece out of the seam - but it is half as thick). The least attractive aspect is the seam, but it functions well, keeping a sturdy water-proof seal without being too hard to open up. A small tab with a pin hole is molded onto each half; none of mine broke with rough handling.Also, this type of plastic does NOT like to stick to glue - superglue, silicone caulk, and hot glue all peel off relatively easily; I finally used JB-Weld epoxy to secure the ball to the stand, and this has worked so far.Hope all this info helps!

The rim where the 2 pieces connect is very delicate and cracks easily. Would recommend for a single use application as opposed to changing out the inside decorations. Product shipped and arrived quickly.

Nicely made but is definitely big! Check the dimensions before buying. With that said, it is nicely made and the two halves for perfectly together.

I purchased this fillable plastic ornament to create a keepsake of my new daughter’s hospital mementos. It was absolutely perfect for my purpose! It fit all of my items with room to spare. I’ll now be able to line some additional pictures in it for added memories. I have heard that these balls are also used to create chocolate desserts and I could see how that would not be difficult. For me I found that it was easy to twist off to fill and assembled nicely back together. I did superglue mine together to protect the contents, but that would not be necessary to keep it together. All in all I found this a great deal for my crafting purposeI do my best to provide detailed reviews to other Amazon customers so they may make informed decisions. My son used this as a brain for his OOD outfit for Mega Con in Tampa this year and it turned out so well! The ball didnt break and is quite sturdy for a plastic ball - this one is about the size of a pommello and is a really nice addition to your cos play outfits or as a great stuffed decoration.I am pleased to say that we will be ordering a few more of these to perfect the costuming experience for the next event.

It was perfect for what we needed it for. My son had a project, "Christmas in other Countries", and each child was assigned a country and they had to make an ornament. We chose this for the size, not too big, not too small, and that it opened. We glued images and small objects inside on the walls and then closed it up, putting gold string around the cut. Got a 110% for it -- 10% extra credit and it was put on the school's Christmas tree.

After watching several online videos showing a fantastic sphere of chocolate that can be melted and / or cracked by the ever wanting dessert eater I knew that I had to get one of these for a nice little surprise for my wife.I have used this several times now and it is very easy to use – just make sure you use the right kind of chocolate that doesn’t interfere with the tempering process with additives in the actual chocolate (im looking at you Hershey chocolate chips!). you also have to be very careful with temperature of the chocolate but that is outside of this review.However, when you do have a nice tempered melted chocolate all you have to do is pour the chocolate in one half of the sphere, snap the other half in, and toss it around. The plastic is thick enough you wont burn your hands. And the great thing is this ball is BIG!It is pretty easy to fit all kinds of nice yummy desserts underneath this ball. After the chocolate has cooled it will release from the sphere itself. There will be a seam from where the two halves click together but you can easily melt this off if it bothers you. It is dishwasher safe and easy to store when you put the two spheres upside down together. It really doesn’t take any more room than a bowl in your cupboard does. Surprise your special someone with this fancy dessert that is pretty easy to look up videos and follow along with
