The shape of the mechanism doesn’t allow it to be used on a road bike but on a mountain bike or cruiser I’m sure that it would work great

This replaced the original front derailleur on a 90s era Cannondale. While the original shifter worked, it didn’t work that well and I was happy to replace it. My requirements were simple, functional and reliable. I have had this a couple of months and I am happy to say that it has met both of these requirements. I can add that it was easy enough to adjust. Even though style and looks were not on my list of needs, this does look good on the bike and helps bring the look of the bike into a more modern era.

for a no name derailleur this is pretty nifty. It is all metal; mostly allow and then steel only on the chain guide. The mounting clamp is also alloy and has a handy hinge that allows me to wrap it easily around the bar that holds it. Then you simply swing over the attached clamp screw and tighten it up. There are NO instructions so you will have to go online to find a video on setting the front derailleur as this one has all the common settings in all the right places. About the only thing that I am less than happy with is that it seems that the length of the chain guide is shorter than anything that I have seen on a mountain bike in some time. This will make it rougher shifting on anything larger than 36t for the largest cog. It integrated with shimano twist shifters perfectly.
