1. There is a top cap and a bolt that you will need to remove.
2. Remove the stem from the bike.
3. Fit the stem to bike and set it up to your liking.
4. To put the top cap back into place and screw the bolt back.

This was for a Giant e-bike. Too much neck strain with even the not-so-low stock bars. This gave a tremendous rise to the bars and neck relief. It seems plenty sturdy for normal use; I wouldn't go doing gnarly singletracks with it. I'm getting another one for my bike.

I was using the standard handlebar stem that came with my bike, but my lower back started to hurt more frequently. So I decided to order and try this one. It made a good change for a more straight up position and less lower back pain. It is slightly thinner than my original fixed stem so I had to order an additional 2mm spacer to avoid wobbling or vibrations from the fork into the handlebar, but that is probably specific to my bike. With the extra spacer it worked like a charm. The seller helped my finding the spacer.Originally I ordered the longest adjustable stem, but the brake and shifter cables were too short and I could no install it, so I had to return that one and order the medium sized one.

I recently purchased the CXWXC Adjustable MTB 31.8mm 70 Degree - 145mm stem for my Aventon Level 2, and I must say, it has been a game-changer for my riding experience. This stem fit my bike with a minor modification, making it the perfect height to raise the handlebar almost 3 inches without the need to replace any wires.The installation process was relatively straightforward, with the only hiccup being the remounting of the headlight. The CXWXC mount where the existing light mount attaches was slightly larger, requiring me to make a small adjustment. I ended up cutting one of the mounting holes off the light mount to allow it to snug up to the new stem mount.To secure everything in place, I used two of the original short bolts to attach the handlebar to the stem and one of the new long bolts to attach the light mount onto the 4th hole of the stem. Despite this minor inconvenience, the end result was well worth it.Overall, I am extremely satisfied with the CXWXC Adjustable MTB stem. It has provided me with the perfect height adjustment I needed while maintaining the integrity of my bike's existing components. If you're looking to upgrade your ride and enhance your comfort level, I highly recommend giving this stem a try.

Bought this for my wife's Lectric XP 3.0 step through electric bike. She was asking for the handlebars to be a little closer to her, but rotating the steering column as suggested in YouTube videos was just too close to her and uncomfortable. This was a perfect dimensions/measurements for the standard handlebars of that bike and allowed us to choose an adjustment that was just right for her by adjusting the angle in combination with the stem height. It does leave an 'unfinished' look to the original stem, but I remedied that by putting one of those rubber mounted bicycle handlebar headlights in that spot. Looks great and gives her a second light source once it gets dark. Looks like the bike came that way.

I got the 31.8mm, 145mm model for maximum rise. I wasn't sure how the quality would be, but it seems well made and sturdy with a nice finish. I ordered this to mount on my new Aventon Aventure 2, and it fit perfectly without much fuss and absolutely no cussing. I reused some of the screws from the original stem riser since they were black and look better than the chrome screws that come with this one. I'm starting out with a full rise, which is how I set the one on my bicycle, which gives me a fairly upright riding position, much like the Dutch bikes. Next is a suspension seatpost.

My wife has neck issues so I bought this to help her keep her neck straight. Its easily adjustable. It’s very strong and it has about 300 miles of mountain biking on it— including some expert terrain — and hasn’t missed a beat. It’s inexpensive for the quality of the build. You could have told me it was $90 and I wouldn’t have been surprised.

Did exactly as I wanted. Needed longer stem length then on my stock bicycle. And gave me the ability to adjust The handlebar height up or down. Simply loosened the set screw with an allen wrench. Then tightened again when at desired angle. Installed easily. My only little quibble is the weight. Heavier than anticipated. But that notwithstanding, excellent product!
