I pretty easily installed this hitch solo on the ground with the aid of a can of PB Blaster, a pair of jack stands, an impact wrench, extentions, a universal joint and a breaker bar. Prelube the bolts with the PB Blaster once a day, a few days in advance if you see rust. Most of the bolts came free easily with the impact, but a couple needed the breaker, particularly the ones up behind the bumper cover. Those also needed the universal joints to get to. All in, it was an hour or so to get it installed. Just make sure you install the shims if needed. I used double stick tape to keep them in place. If you do live in the rust belt, you may want to consider picking up a new fuel tank skid plate since that's the only thing holding up the fuel tank.

Wonce we figured out that metal had to be removed from the sides of the tank holder....and took off about a half of inch of it...it went on just fine.a call to the CURT COMPANY cleared up some issues..like how to hook the wiring harness up and where was it. A technology guy at the company was awesome an knowledgeable. All is goodIt pulls just great. Now if I can learn how to back up with it on there.

Installed this hitch receiver on my 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee - it went on easily with help from a friend. Took about two hours of effort at a steady, unrushed pace. The kit also came with a wiring harness which also was easy to install - there’s plenty of instructional videos online for both the hitch receiver and the harness. Used the hitch receiver and 2” ball mount to tow a rented trailer and had no issues with the newly installed equipment. The Jeep seemed to enjoy the workout :-)

Didn't want to line up right. Was a little off and had to use a wedge and pry bar to get bolts in.

Well, it wasn't as easy to install as anticipated. The wiring actually was relatively easy, but the installation of the hitch itself takes two (2) individuals who can hold the weight of the hitch while installing. It took a couple of hours, but it got done. But, as far as the product and the price; you couldn't beat it. Especially considering the 2" ball was included with the kit.
