They should give you a quick guide directions. Drop exhaust first Second remove both heat shields then install hitch. Last cut heat shields. The directions were 100%. Very easy installation.

One 7/16" mounting bolt arrived damaged threading, c pictures. Called Curt customer support. They refused to replace the bolt. This bolt is a non standard threading, NOT available locally. As a hurricane IAN victim there r limited resources available for its replacement here and now. Thanks for the help curt! This bolt is "fished" thru the frame with a provided fish wire. I tested bolts previous 2 install. Had this damaged bolt been "fished" into it's mounting position and the damage discovered then, no way 2 extract the damaged bolt. This creates lots of problems, the least of which is loose bolt rattling around inside the frame. DO NOT BUY/ ATTEMPT THIS PROJECT UNLESS U R WILLING TO PROVIDE/MANUFACTURE PARTS WHICH R NON STANDARD AND NOT WARRANTED. THIS INSTALL IS DIFFICULT, REQUIRES A SHOP, PROFESSIONAL LIFT. REQUIRES REMOVAL OF PLASTIC UNDERBODY PANEL, LOWERING THE EXHAUST SYSTEM (BETTER HAVE STRONG HANDS AND SPECIALTY PLIERS) NOT 2 MENTION THE GREAT BOLT "FISHING" REQUIREMENT.Check it out on utube.Attractive pricing but reality is ur gonna end paying the shop price 4 a hitch with install using this product. May as well let the shop do it.

This was a great investment! It was really easy to install with the right tools, which I had on hand. If doing this on your own, I would strongly suggest using car ramps and backing your car up on them in order to raise the back end of the car, which gives you so much more room to work! I use the hitch to carry around bikes and pull a small flatbed trailer. I drive a 2008 Honda Accord Ex-l (4 cyl).

Due to the sku similarities between this and the base hitch, amazon warehouse was unable to distinguish between base hitch and this sku. I got a great deal on this item but it did not come with the hitch attachment. Good quality and I am not rebuying at a much higher price but be aware that if you buy from the warehouse there is a good chance it is just base hitch. Take that into account for pricing considerations.

I placed the order 3pm and selected free delivery. The item was shipped before close of business and was delivered next day.I received my item in a nice box. The box was not damaged. I opened the box and all items needed for installation was properly placed in a nylon bag and properly taped to the hitch. However, the "old style ball mount" was not taped or secured in any other way. Both the hitch and the ball mount hit each other and both items had several scratches. I was surprised to see such thoughtfulness and the opposite in the same box. Both the hitch and ball mount are well made, heavy and covered with a nice thick paint. The ball mount is solid metal, not a square tube.I installed this hitch to 2011 Honda Accord Sedan EX-L with two exhausts. As I don't have access to a lift, I jacked the car and placed it on two stands, worked laying under the car. The "fishing" operation was far more easier than I expected. The hitch was a perfect fit to the holes, everything went well without surprises. I completed the whole operation in 2 hours max, working alone, with all the items obtained from Walmart. Just watch a few videos on YouTube and get all necessary items, you'll be fine.Did not use my hitch yet. I will update my review after some time.Edit from September 2019: I used the hitch to tow u-haul trailers, installed a basket for additional luggage and used 2300miles, used it for a bicycle rack... it works perfectly, didn’t rust or wear. Highly recommended.Edit from December 2020: Still using the hitch as needed. Time is coming to change the car; the hitch is just fine.

Bought this to pull a small utility trailer from my 2008 honda accord. it was a perfect fit and I'm very happy. Took a little while cutting the heat shield to make a perfect fit but worth it. would definitely buy again for my next car.

The hitch is good quality, but not so sure about the mounting hardware. I snapped off one of the legs of the U Bolt while torquing it to the required specs. No local hardware stores around to match up the bolt. Lowes doesn't carry a replacement of the correct size either. Without a U Bolt I haven't tried towing anything with the hitch. I contacted Curt directly, but no response from their customer service department. Not too happy with a hitch I can't use. So yeah, don't try to torque the U Bolt to 30 lbs. You will break it.
