Had this on the car in about 1.5 hours. Automotive professional here, but NOT for a novice, as you have to remove the bumper plastics and the actual metal bumper rebar to fish the bolts into place. Requires DRILLING on the automobile.Otherwise quality is just fine. Hold my bike rack securely.

Worked perfect on our little smart car. Hubby and son installed and said instructions are good. They watched several YouTube videos also. They are mechanic’s and we have a lift so made job easier.

Easy to install great value. Goes on a lot easier if you drop the rear sway bar.

This is wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy more hitch than a smartcar will ever need. It could have been constructed of lesser materials at a cost savings and would have performed as well.

Picked up as an open box. Came with all of the parts. Was relatively easy to install with the proper tools. Not sure how much towing I will do with the Smart but I now have the capability if I need it. Curt makes fine hitches so you cannot go wrong.

Bought this hitch for my 2008 smart car. Easy installation and pulls my small 250 pound landscape trailer and about 450lb. Of load in the trailer. Extremely happy with purchased was highly recommended it for any smart car owners

Smart fortwo 2009 Cabriolet. Its not easy to install it.Smart Fortwo frame is a tube type.So the guide is useless. Two Professional works spent 60 min installing it and cost me $90.If you are considering buying this hitch, you should check whether you have appropriate tools, such as drill and jacks.Because it needs at least 6 holes on the car main frame, but there are only 5. So you need to make a hole on it.In addition to that, there is not enough space to work under the car, the guys lost one bolt inside the frame. They say they need four fish wires but only two provided.I dont understand this part.Anyway I want to say that its not easy job.The guide is totally useless. The pictures in the installation guide are far far from actual situation. If I knew this, I wouldnt buy this one.I would buy 400 dallar basket for Fortwo.
