Newer high efficient furnace heat exchangers are so restrictive that the flue gases cannot exit the furnace though natural draft. Therefore, the inducer is required to pull the flue gases through the heat exchanger. The inducer motor is usually the first thing that starts up when your furnace calls for heat.

Only the motor needed replacing but was forced to purchase this because I was unable to remove the set screw on the shroud of my original.It was too rusted to remove and too hard to drill out. Heat would have worked but didn’t go there.Easy to install in 15 min.
