Purchased these to use with my watercolors. They perfectly take up the paint and create a depth in the paintings. Will definitely purchase again

I was looking for a better way to lift paint from my watercolor paintings and this works great. It does start to crumble after a few wipes so I cut off the used area to get a fresh edge.

The times I have tested them I was thoroughly surprised. They do work, but definitely only use on heavier weighted paper or your more expensive paper like Arches 😭 lol

Does a very good job of scrubbing water color pigment without tearing up the paper too much. I can use the pointed end to be more precise in my scrubbing than my old paper towels.

These are terrible sponges. On my first usage (straight out of the package), the sponge fell apart into my watercolor painting.

I ordered these to replace some well-worn ones which just won't wash clean anymore, and risk adding color when I'm trying to lift color off...definitely a quick way to damage a painting! They're pretty basic sponges, other than being pure white and holding a reasonable amount of water. They do well at lifting paint to create more nebulous, cloudy, or foggy effects, but I've also used them as an initial water wash for wet on wet techniques. They don't shred easily like some cheap kitchen sponges, and aren't so firm as to do a poor job at lifting like some makeup sponges can. They're fairly average for art-focused sponges, though it's much harder than it should be to find art-focused sponges in white.

I got some of these sponges because I am a painter, and one of my kids is a potter. We both can use good lifting sponges.HOW THESE COMEThese come pre-cut into triangle shapes. They are in a zipper lock bag.TEXTURETo be honest, this set of sponges reminds me of a cross between a Magic Eraser sponge and some makeup sponges I have used. They lift up paint beautifully, however, which both of those do as well.PERFORMANCENot only do these lift paint well in my artwork (watercolor mostly), they work well for my daughter in her pottery work.THE BOTTOM LINEThese sponges are handy to have. Their shape is easy to work with.MY RATINGFIVE STARS. These sponges are easy to use and a nice shape. In a pinch, you can use some types of makeup sponges too. It is easier to keep these separate in their own bag for me, however.

I was so excited to receive these sponges and so unhappy to find that the sponges fell apart on the first use!
