Bought this as (hopefully) a lower-cost alternative to 3M Gold—no such luck. The adhesive is far too aggressive, making removal of the paper a nightmare. I needed a scraper to remove it from a glass surface and then had to clean the remaining adhesive with Goo Gone before putting down a new piece.Next time, I'll bite the bullet and get the real deal. The money saved wasn't worth it.

First check is this sandpaper good. It passed basic sanding tests, no gouges, lasted through sanding walnut so pass. Second, is adhesive good and yes, I used it on wood and a sand block and it held. FYI, the photo of the black sandblock is not this paper. So this sands well and stays attached. Now my take on adhesive sandpaper. I had never used it until about 5 years ago and I love it. One of my photos shows me just attaching to a piece of walnut and boom, I have a sanding block. I mostly use this on sanding blocks that were made for automotive, but I use them for wood. My last photo shows it in my home made drum sander. With his sander I can get wood down to 1/8 of an in for building Ukuleles. I need adhesive sandpaper for the drum.

As a woodworker, I really like the idea of having a roll adhesive backed sandpaper in my woodshop as it has so many helpful uses. The CowboyBOB brand, model # HJ11028, is a 220-grit sandpaper that is 2 3/4" wide x 20 yards long and it is aluminum oxide based that is on an adhesive “peel and stick” 5 3/8” roll. Because it is on a continues roll, I am able to “cut to size” the needed length of adhesive sandpaper for my project need. I especially use this type of adhesive back, continuous sandpaper on the fence of my table saw sled to securely hold the project wood from sliding when I am cutting it. I have also used this adhesive sandpaper on my homemade saw push block as I push my project wood into the table saw. This sandpaper tape is also used on my chop box miter saw hold down stick when I need to hold small pieces of wood as I cut them next into the rotating sawblade. I really like the fact that the 220 grit of this sandpaper is clearly marked on the back of the sandpaper to distinguish the specific grit size, especially when I have different grits of sandpaper in my workshop. It is a great item to have in my woodshop!

This is very useful sand paper. I have been able to cut the tape into narrow inch strips to use on my leveling beam. It's so much cheaper to cut this tape to size and there is no waste!
