I purchased six packages of this metal edging as part of my backyard landscaping project. Some of the reviews I read expressed frustration with the assembly, but once I figured out the secret it was a snap. While two sets of hands would make the assembly a bit easier, it’s very achievable with one set. I always left one section sitting sitting on top of the ground and then pounded in the one before it. A rubber mallet and a half-inch thick length of wood are handy for firmly connecting the sections and for making bends.

I was hoping these pieces would connect easily but these are the worst. The tabs that are supposed to go into a lock and key structure to join one piece to the next are too shallow they don’t catch to connect one piece to the next. Complete garbage. I’m left with 4 pieces that are junk.

Installation was a bit challenging as the notches were not expanded enough for it one to slide into the other. But I used a flathead screwdriver to widen them and seemed to work fine. I do like how they look and the gloves that came with it were a plus for installation due to the rust finish

This edging is stunning and very easy to install. A little pricey, but will not degrade and will look better with time. So much better than the black plastic that is commonly used.

This is the second time I’ve Purchased these. I Live on a hilly acre and I’m trying to landscape it. Using the plant supports not only look great but it’s holding up well and I’m not getting erosion. The plants seem to like it, which makes me happy.. They seem a little pricey, but I think they will last a very long time and they’re working unlike many of the plastic ones. I’ve purchased at big box stores.

This edging looked just like the picture and worked well. The only criticism I have is that some instructions would have been helpful. Turns out that all sections of edging must be connected before it can be installed in the ground. The easiest way to do this is to lay the edging on its side, line up the tabs on one section with holes on the neighboring section, and then tap together with a rubber mallet. Short lengths of 2x4 helped to keep the sections off the ground and to provide a surface to tap against. Once the whole run of edging is assembled it can be pounded into the ground quite easily.

This product installed pretty easily once I developed a technique for joining the sections. They are held by 4 clips. You can’t drive one piece down and then join the next. They need to be joined and driven in gradually for the entire length of the edge. I set them in a 1 inch deep trench which lends stability during and after installation. The pieces can be easily curved, cut and bent. If the slope of your yard varies you will have some little steps between the pieces (we do) or perhaps vary the depth at which they are set. The look is subtle and string trimmer does not damage them.
