solid, not flimsy at all. cannot break if you step on it...unless you have cement shoes. very loud. good value for money. easy to use. average size of while with nice neck lanyard.

I bought 4 of these whistles to have for various emergency kits. When I received the whistles I immediately noticed that on the packaging it said that the contents of the whistle are known to cause cancer. It was not worth returning, so I have thrown them out and had to spend more money replacing them.I do not recommend purchasing this whistle.
