Dogs! I’ve got ‘em. And hardwood stairs. I buy these so the dogs don’t slip on the stairs and hurt themselves, one is an old poodle and the other one is just weird. Okay, so I’m also a klutz. Not only do I put them on the stairs but on the smooth stone tiles in front of the door because the house is old and I could never find a rug the door could open over. And the weird dog hates stepping inside to a slippery floor in the winter. Love that they are clear, you can’t even see them unless you try to. Every spring I peel them right off easily and replace them with clean new ones. You can’t even see wash them but I’m lazy and they aren’t expensive. Choose your battles, right?

Easy to use. I used mine at the edge of my stairs. I’m sure if you put them in the center of your stairs it would be more translucent.Pretty durable. Would recommend

A clear stair tread was a fantastic idea. I was picturing a transparent rubber-type material that would blend into the stairs. Reality is a horrible thing. These treads work exactly as described, but they are more translucent-looking and stand out instead of blending in. I can't fault the product because it never claimed to be invisible. I just prefer a different look. These are good quality and work great. Just be sure you know what it will look like before purchasing.

The best thing about this has been the adhesion and transparency. Prior to putting on my stairs, I had very ugly old carpet squares that were from the previous owner that I wanted to remove. Because I have kids, I wanted something that would provide more friction and stability when going up or down. Overall decent and wonderful! The only issue I have had with them thus far has been likely user error and not product error in which I had to remove of the strips as I placed it too close to the edge.I would encourage anyone who is looking for something that is visually nonparent to seriously consider adding these to their home or stairwell.P. S.: the one I removed did not leave any residue, nor harmed our wooden stairwell. While I cannot speak to every case out there, that was my experience in a 1930s home.

I got these for my elderly mother's house because she has two steep wooden staircases in her house. I am testing these out first on the basement stairs first. So far so good! Easy to apply and didn't take long at all after cleaning the stairs (hand vaccuum, mopped using a mild cleaner and let completely dry first.) They even included a roller wand for application which is a thoughtful addition. I think they provide an overall improvement in traction compared to the varnished wood steps which can be slippery. So very functional in that aspect. They have stayed stuck well so far. Although they're not invisible they don't look as ugly as some alternatives like pieces of carpet. I will provide an update after a couple months about how they are holding up, as well as how easy they are to keep clean.

We have very slippery hardwood stairs in our house. I did not want to cover them with carpet because I love the color and grain of the hardwood. However, we do have friends with children, and our parents are getting older and everyone has taken a slip on the stairs at one point or another so we knew we needed some treads to help people keep their traction.While these were easy to apply and our pre-cut, which is nice, they look absolutely terrible on the stairs. They are very thick, which causes you to have an extra step almost. They are also textured to give you the traction and even though they are clear, they look quite odd on the stairsThey were easy to take up, so that was a good thing, but we will not be using this. My husband‘s comment was these would be great if we lived in a senior citizen home and they were required by the state.
