Heats up quickly, but dies as soon as it touches a piece of thread. I have changed tips and battery with the same results. Should have tried the product out as soon as I got it, I’m out of return window and stuck with it.

Believe it or not, we used this to mark snakes during a field wildlife study. The snakes were not especially happy about it but we needed to identify snake population recapture and migration.

It was easy to put in the batteries and use right out of the box. Simple instructions were provided. I had no idea how much I needed this sewing tool in my life until I purchased it. It's great for finishing off ends, sealing ribbon, elastic, and other edges that are prone to fraying. I used to use fray check liquid when needed, but this is my new go-to instead. It's easy to use, and I am super happy to have this on hand!

If one simply cuts the line you wind up with a frayed end. With this thermal cutter it not only cuts it quickly but also prevents it from fraying.The downside is that the end is not clean and sharp and cannot be easily threaded.

The filament heats up quickly. This also can be used for any task where pinpoint heating is needed, as long as it is applied delicately to preserve the heating element.

Great product! Purchased for my leather hand sewing projects. Works well for burning waxed thread ends. No more burning fingers using a lighter. Definitely would recommend.
