This is a great critter carrier that's targeted for cats and smaller dogs/animals and I think it works fantastic. We use this when transporting our two ferrets from their cage to the "play room", when we need them temporarily out of the cage, or when taking them to the vet/boarder.I love how the top-front is screened and has a zipper closure (wish it was two zippers like the sides, but I don't feel that's a big enough deal to dock this a star). The sides also are top-mesh with a [double] zipper closure that makes them open like doors as it's the entire side that swings open. This also helps to collapse the bag flat when not in use. The front of the bag has two 1 1/4" holes near the bottom that allow the ferrets to curiously stick their noses out, but nowhere near big enough for them to squeeze through. The front also has a flap that you can roll up/down to cover that mesh screen (there is a snap at the top to keep the flap rolled-up), however the side screens do not have any type of "privacy" flap, but the bottom third are opaque nylon panels that can be used as small storage pockets as they are meshed on the front so you can see what you've stored. There is a plastic grip handle on top, secured by sewn nylon that runs through it, and the back has two adjustable padded shoulder straps (with a center-belt buckle if your load is really heavy), and there are two strategically placed pads where your back would contact to provide a bit of cushion and potentially some "breathing" space between you and the bag, but they are rather thinly padded, so don't expect much cooling if you're hiking the Appalachian with it.There's no firm "panel" or similar in the back portion to provide rigidity, it's primarily through the covered wire frame that runs through the side doors. The bottom has no additional padding/protection like a rubberized soleplate, so I wouldn't put this on rough/rocky surfaces a whole bunch as it would likely wear out/tear. It's completely fine if its restricted to home/auto/office use.On the inside, there is a thin felt-like pad that covers the entire floor of the interior. It doesn't attach in any way, which makes it easy to remove for cleaning. The bottom of the pad has the tiny rubber friction dots that work great on a table, but my ferrets want to tunnel under that pad immediately anyway.I am absolutely satisfied with this carrier and glad I chose it.

My cat recently had some health issues and has had several visits back and forth to the vet. Well he's perfectly fine now. It's been stressful and going back and forth over and over is not his favorite thing. When we started this whole adventure we had one of those old plastic type pet carriers. That's very generic and it's a big plastic box with a cage on the front. My cat absolutely despises that this backpack is so much nicer for him and makes him so much happier when we're traveling. Granted he still hates going to the vet, but now at least he's comfy and he's cozy in his little backpack. When I set it in the passenger seat of the car next to me, he can actually like lay down comfortably. From his perspective, it's the least worst option for travel. From my perspective, it's absolutely phenomenal. First off, I did not expect this thing to fold up and store so compactly. I'm not the kind of person that takes my cat on adventures so we only use this if he has to go to the vet or something like that and I don't want to store a gigantic huge cat carrier someplace. This thing folds down so much smaller than you would expect it to be able to fold down. You can collapse the sides and pop a couple little things on it and then adjust the straps to how it was when it arrived and it fits into like tiny little spaces. It's incredible, which means I can store it indoors. That also means for my cat's sake that if he decides to get sick in the middle of winter, he doesn't have to go into a cat carrier that's been stored in the cold garage all day. Add that to the fact that the little windows are all either open or closed by your choice. They've got a little shade thingy that can go over them if looking out freaks your cat out or you can open them up and button them up out of the way if looking out is what your cat wants. There's lovely little pockets that fit both his harness and leash that he has to wear at the vet and that fit a couple packs of treats and extra paperwork. I can stick meds or something in there after he comes back from the vet like it's got more storage in it than my purse does. For something that folds down that small, it's incredible. If you are going to be the kind of person that takes your cat out on adventures or maybe if your cat is the kind of cat that wants to go on adventures cuz mine doesn't, I think this would be awesome. It's got a nice chest strap like a hiking backpack. Would the shoulder straps are super comfy? If you have a heavy cat and it just the construction of it is really really nice. I can't say enough about this. Honestly, if you don't have a cat carrier get this. If your cat carrier is anything less than stellar also get this.

I ordered this pet carrier backpack for my 8 lb puppy and it works great for her! I love how sturdy it is and that she's got a supportive base beneath her feet. This backpack has a ton on ventilation and very comfortable and cushioned straps and backpiece. Each side panel has 2 mesh pockets, a ventilated window, and is able to be completely unzipped and opened so that your pet can walk out. The front flap can be rolled up and secured via a strap that snaps into place so the biggest window is viewable, that screeen can also be rolled down and secured by another snappable strap so that it is completely open and your pet can hang their head out. The bottom has a cloth covered pad for them to sit or lay on, and the holes in the bottom are great for additional ventilation or the quick feeding of a treat. The handle is very sturdy and strong, but isn't uncomfortable in the hand due to it's rubbery texture.Overall, this is a fantastic pet carrier for any small dog or cat and works well for anytime you need to bring your pet with you, but cannot allow them to walk or need a way to keep them safe from random things on the street or in the woods. I would highly recommend it!
