Then pan is a good size -- large enough for a flatiron steak to not feel crowded on.. but I had to take star off for the low quality of the cast iron - meaning that it has lots of pits in it (unlike a good quality cast iron pan that is smooth). The handle is a bit clunky to work with, but it does work for getting the pan in/out of a pizza oven. So overall, it's nice to have something for expanding the use of a pizza oven, but it's just lacking in some levels of quality/ease of use.

This is a great cast-iron pan. One of the things I like best about it is the detachable handle for maximum flexibility. This allows this pan to go in and out of the oven easily without worries abojt burns. This is also easy to clean and season after use. Overall, I definitely recommend this.

I needed a pan to put on my grill so I could cook onions and peppers at the same time as I cook my fajita meat. This seem to fit the bill. However, I did not like the finish of the pan itself. I don't know what kind of a finish it is, but it does not seem to be a traditional seasoning. It was very tough, almost like an enamel coating.How tough? It was incredibly resistant to grinding with a grindstone on a drill. Regular seasoning is not like this.But in any case, I knew it was cast iron underneath, so I used my grindstones and sanding discs and I sanded it entirely bare. Then I wiped on grapeseed oil and did my own seasoning on high heat over the stove.It turned out beautifully.I have included three pictures. The first is the pan after I got everything stripped out and it is just bear rock cast-iron. The second is a picture as I am seasoning it on the stove top, and the third picture is when it is done.The handle may need a little filing so it goes into the pan a little easier, but I re-shaped it a bit and everything works perfect now. There was another review that addressed this, but a little filing will make it easier to insert.It was some work, but I'm glad I bought it.

I was really looking forward to getting this skillet because we love steaks and this seemed like a great size to accommodate two medium-sized steaks better than the round pan we have. Before I had the chance to try steaks, I found myself frying up a lb of bacon. It was easy work. The 8 X 14” size fit the width of my burner perfectly and allowed the bacon strips to be placed uncut in the pan. I didn’t need or use the handle while cooking and the result was fast and easy [see photo]. I also noticed the heat distribution was very even. I’m looking forward to trying steaks on the burner and other items in the oven. Since it’s cast iron there should be no cooking surprises.A word of caution: the skillet weighs 5.7 lbs and, if it’s hot enough to need the handle it could prove a bit heavy to carry and manipulate. I’m retired and when I put the handle on the skillet I have to rest my entire forearm along the handle to carry it comfortably [see photo]. Also, you made need a bit of practice to attach and remove the handle because it’s a tight and solid fit on the pan. This is not a negative. The handle is very sturdy and I like the versatility of using the skillet with and without the handle.Great product. Decent price.WHAT I LIKED- benefits of cast iron cooking- removable handle makes both stove top cooking and oven cooking convenient and easy.- The oval shape makes it easy to cook longer items, like bacon and asparagus.- Size will accommodate large items, like steaks or large servings of vegetables.- handle is very sturdy- good heat distributionWHAT I DIDN’T LIKE- nothing, but be mindful of the weight when using the handle.

First one I got was defective. Tried a second time. Same problem! what I received doesn’t work. The detachable handle is supposed to attach to both ends of the pan. But it won’t attach on one end because the cast iron is mishapen.Seller won’t respond to messages!

This griddle in PERFECT on my gas grill. It has elevated sides, to hold in juices and/or marinades. It has a smooth interior for shifting, and stirring foods, while cooking and it even fits next to my larger (Lodge) griddle I make smash burgers on the larger and onions, peppers, etc. on this one. It heavy and made well. It comes with a substantial, removable handle for safety, so you can remove it from any heat source. I LOVE THIS THING!!!!!
