For garden tractors, tillers, and trenchers, the Carlstar/Carlisle Super Lug is a great choice when traction is a real priority. The Super Lug features deep, sharp-angled bar lugs, a self-cleaning design, wide footprint, and a heavy-duty rubber compound that resists damage in rough conditions.

Great value for the money. Working fine. Good traction. Have to put in front of heater first, then mount up fairly easy by hand with a couple tire bars. You don't need the manual tire mounting contraption. Just put the old tire in front heater to remove do same to install, I used heavy solution of Dawn dish soap, used my knees to help hold tire in place on floor and everything went fine.

Love the tire had them put on at a tire shop and used them when plowing my garden. Completely lived up to my expectations.

Needed agricultural 4ply tire for my front end loader garden tractor. Decided on these based on review even thou they were much more expensive then alternatives. The tires I received are 2ply carlisle turf tires, worth less than half what I paid and completely useless for my application.I have submitted request for refund, Very unhappy as now there is further delays in getting my tractor running for snow removal..

These are made to be the drive tires on a walk behind machine of sorts, I however used them as the front steer wheels on my antique garden tractor, and they work awesome. I have a super heavy dozer plow in comparison to todays flimsy box store stuff, these old plows alone are heavier than most new yard tractors. The tires hold up the weight of the 1100Lb tractor plus me, plus the plow with no issue they don't even squat a tiny bit. Very happy with the strength and durability of these tires, and absolutely the way to go throw those turf tires in the trash and get a set of these.

Bought these to replace the rears on my little Poulan Pro 30-inch riding mower to improve traction on hills. Stock tires just slipped on the grass when attempting to go down or up any kind of hill. Hopeless. These Super Lugs eliminate that problem completely. Now I can mow the whole yard instead of just the non-hilly parts. Still need to experiment with tire pressures a bit to reduce the number of times I get stuck in the uneven areas with one wheel in the air and the differential diverting power to the wheel that's up in the air, but these tires make it possible to safely mow up and down the hilly areas. I bought the 16.5s because they were quite a bit cheaper than the 16s on the Amazon site, but noted that the tires that came were 16s. Good deal, I guess. Also got smaller Carlisle Super Lugs for the front (reviewed elsewhere) that provided a corresponding improvement in traction for steering.

These tires are nice and fit well. The description says they are 16.5x6.50-8 but the tires I received were 16x6.50-8. That’s what was on my tractor anyway so no big deal.

I used these tires on the front of my riding mower / garden tractor. I was tired of the OEM tires that had a flat thread with no ability to grip. Most of the time when I turned sharply the original tires would just slide on the grass. Not with these tires, I have excellent traction with good turning capabilities. Also the OEM tires would leak constantly and / or were punctured easily. These tires have not even needed air since they were mounted 5 months ago.The only problem that I ran into with these tires was that the sidewalls were so stiff and strong that I was not able to mount them myself by hand. It was easily resolved by the local tire store. This is one problem that does not take away any stars.

The front turf tires on my garden tractor tended to slip while turning, unless I was going very slow and turned very gradually. And this was on grass! I planned to use this tractor to plow snow this winter, and I knew that if I couldn't even turn on grass, I'd have no chance on snow. Rather than put chains on my front tires (there's not a lot of clearance) I decided to try these ag / lug style tires. I have them installed "backwards" (lugs make a V when you look down at the top of the tire), which seems to be the recommendation for better traction on non-drive wheels. If you're mounting these on rear wheels, or if you have a 4WD tractor, it will probably work better to install them "normally" (lugs make a ^ when viewed from the top).I got a chance to try them while plowing the first real snow of the season yesterday, and they work even better than I'd hoped! I didn't skid at all while turning. I was also able to push fairly heavy with my plow angled, which I've heard causes the front end of small tractors to just slip sideways. No slipping, no skidding, reasonable price from Amazon; I'm a happy camper. The one complaint I've heard about using lug tires is that they'll mess up your lawn. I won't be able to check this until next spring, but I'm really not concerned, for the following reasons: First, when the old turf tires skidded sideways instead of turning the tractor, they damaged the lawn. Since these lug tires prevent/reduce skidding, they should also prevent/reduce that damage. The only damage I could see from these would be turning the wheels sharply while the tractor is not moving - in that case, this style tire would twist out more grass than the slippery turf tires. But turning in place isn't good for the steering gears anyway, so I try to avoid it.EDIT: After mowing with these for a whole summer season, I can confirm that lawn damage was simply not an issue, especially with these tires on the front of a tractor. They gripped very effectively even when turning on wet grass, but never left noticeable indentations or caused any damage.Overall I'm very happy with these tires. Big improvement over the OEM turf tires.
