Comes packaged well, I was originally a little concerned about the glass lid, but it was well protected. The wok came pre-seasoned. I added another coat of oil for good measure. Lots of YouTube videos on how to do this, but basically a thin layer of a high smoke point oil, heated. The pictures provided are after a week of daily cooking. To help retain the non-stick and smooth appearance, I do the following:1) Pre-heat the wok before cooking. Only after letting the temperature rise, then add your cooking oil, fat, etc. Then add your ingredients, you'll find it's much less likely to stick this way.2) While it comes with a metal spatula, I have set that aside and use my wooden and nylon tools. Why cause more abuse than necessary?3) If you are cooking with acidic foods or ingredients (eg - vinegar, tomatoes, citrus) add those at the end for only a quick toss, don't let it sit in the wok.4) If the food is sticking, don't scrape, scoop out what you can. Add water, and keep on flame - similar to de-glazing. Order just soak in hot water until food becomes detached enough to just brush off with little or no effort.5) Completely dry the wok with a towel or paper towels after washing. You can heat it dry, but I don't - still have not had an issue with any of my woks or other cast iron rusting. Absolutely no dishwasher.I don't leave a layer of oil on my woks or cast iron ware. It's messy and unnecessary as long as you ensure it's dry before putting away. I store the wok and cast iron in my cupboard, or my oven. The lid is great as well. I use my wok to steam dishes as well. I use a metal steaming rack I bought at the Chinese grocery store for a $1.I have high hopes for this wok lasting a long time.

Outstanding and amazing sums it up! The perfect size for large dishes that you need excess room in the pan for mixing and stirring. Nice depth with a continuous smooth surface. Comes with 2 detachable handles and a awesome lid with vent hole. Includes a soft storage bag for the pan and lid to help keep dust out when not in use. Also included is a great metal spatula/spoon. Now I have a religious belief that metal and my cooking pans never ever go together. You can get thrown out of the kitchen if I catch you using anything metal in my pots and pans. However, my husband has fallen in love with this one and he uses it when grilling or when cooking in his cast-iron pans. He says it can be used in this pan too and I know the manufacturer wouldn't include it with this pan if you couldn't use it. I just can't get past my feelings about metal in my cookware and I love this wok too much to risk scratching it.It sits completely flat on my coil burner stove, heats evenly and hot so start out cooking on a lower setting until you've figured it out for your stove. It's a nice heavy weighted pan but doesn't tire out your hand. It really is a smooth cooking wok, smooth to handle, easy to put the handle on and off and easy to clean.I've used mine about a dozen times now and it still looks brand new. I do store it in the storage bag and before storing it I apply a very small dab of oil inside with a soft paper towel. This is my new best friend in the kitchen and is well worth the money!

Right from the start this wok exceeded my expectations. It was very well packaged and opening up the box was like finding a present in a present. Clearly anyone who takes such care with packaging their product has been taken similar care when making it.The wok itself is very well made and finished. Unlike my other woks which are somewhat crude steel pans, this one has a beautiful satin finish. Because it is made with carbon steel, it should be tough, but important to wash this out with warm water and mild dish soap after every use and then immediately dry the pan. My ordinary steel woks rust if you don't religiously do this and it makes sense to do the same with this one. Instructions say not to use steel pads to clean this and I hope the non-stick character works well enough to be able to do so over time. My other aged woks occassionally need a little extra scrubbing, but I try to limit use of Brillo or SOS pads on them. Also important, after cleaning pan, put a little cooking oil on a paper towel or cloth and rub it into the pan surface. On my old woks this keeps rust at bay and the instructions for this wok indicate it helps keep the non stick properties intact. Don't overdo it with the oil...in this case, less is more. The handle fits easily into place on the stud on the side of the wok and is fastened there with the long screw into the bung, which also serves as the eye to hand the pan from when not in use. The glass cover is well made and fits the wok well and has a large handle which makes it easy to pick up. The included spatula is nicely made and well sized for work in this wok.Overall I'm quite impressed from the packaging to the product itself. The pan is well made and the flat bottom lends itself to being easier to use than the standard rounded bottom ones that need to be used with a steel trivet. I cook with gas, so not a major issue with me, but if you have an electric stove, particularly one of the new conduction top ranges, it will make a huge difference. While scooping and tossing food in a standard rounded wok is easier, this flat bottomed design is easy to get used to and the stir fry I made the day this was delivered is testiment to that. Think I will be retiring the old woks...I like this one that much.
