This will replace the old Nuovo Record and Super Record headsets. Very attractive design, and looks like it belongs with a Super Record group. Aluminum body with steel races pressed in. It's actually better than the original headsets because it has rubber seals to better seal out water and contamination. The original headsets did not have these seals, and were prone to contamination and a shortened lifespan.

I’ve used this headset on a couple of other bikes and it’s great. However on purchasing this one it turned up in a new looking box but inside it was clearly used and damaged. Returned.

Any bike that comes through my hands that needs a threaded headset gets one of these. They're great. Don't see the point in messing around with anything less (and I have a couple of high quality Shimano threaded headsets from the 90's in my parts bin that I'll probably never use as long as I can keep getting more of these).

When building an Italian bicycle, I prefer using Campagnolo groupsets. I crashed my Bianchi and ruined the frame geometry. I found an NOS Colnago steel frame that was period correct for the Campagnolo groupset salvaged from the scrapped Bianchi, but I needed a new headset. This one installed easily, worked flawlessly, and was aesthetically pleasing. My application required a spacer that had to be sourced elsewhere, but otherwise, everything else was included. I love Italian steel frame bicycles with Campy gruppo.

The best as always. Be mindful that you check your fork crown race diameter (where the ball bearing race of this headset is pressed onto the base of the fork steerer tube). This headset uses 26.4mm dia race. This will not fit into a fork using a 27mm race diameter. You will not be able to make the race fit. Also, this headset uses open caged bearing which have worked flawlessly for many generations. But grease liberally when installing.

This is a great Campy headset at a reasonable price. Very nicely made and well finished. I would prefer that the engraved "RECORD" was not in such a large font size but the headset works great.
