have to be careful where you place this item so that it will read correctly, not in the sun, works better place under the unit.

I have a heat pump with lp gas as a backup. I depend on the outside temperature sensor to be accurate to shut down the heat pump and start the gas furnace. This did the trick. My old one was 10-15 degrees off, but this one seems to be very accurate.
