I chose this particular step for my Honda Ridgeline because it doesn’t just look like a clunky/blocky step. And, I chose the chromed version versus the powder coat because powder coat will chip. And, over time the chipped areas will bubble and rust. I’ve had powder coated steps on other trucks and after a year or two the rusting becomes extremely noticeable. Also, the chromed version of the step perfectly matches the chromed side steps I had previously installed. The only negative I’ve detected is that the black coated tongue on the step almost immediately began to discolor (rust). Maybe this was partly due to the fact that we live in a high road salt region. However, I applied a coat of black rust converter/sealant and the problem seems to have been solved.Regardless, the step looks great and it serves the function I purchased it for. I would recommend it highly.

after looking at the price to replace a truck bumper and the amount of plastic that can be damaged in a wreck I decided to add this little nice to have. It is very nice to have. Thankfully no wrecks yet but I hope it repels car damage from someone not paying enough attention. It is very sturdy. Was truly easy to install and it fits my Ford F150 2010 Tail gait perfectly. I put a locking pin onto it but I think if someone were inclined to steal it, they could with a batter operated sawing tool. I use it to step up into the truck bed and consider it worth the investment.

I received the product and placed it on a 2020 F150. Overall I will say it is a great product and fair price. Several issues. Manufacture for the hitch is a little loose for the receiver. I understand that it can't be exact to a millimeter but there is some play init as well. OK NOT THE MANUFACTURE ISSUE OR SELLER. This is the third product in about a month fulfilled by AMAZON that is clearly been used. The box it came had been opened two tabs to keep it closed were missing. Seal was not intact. Before inserting it into the receiver if you look on the slide piece going to the receiver it was missing some paint underneath as it was scraped going in or out several times from the receiver. It had some non matching black paint brushed onto hide some wear marks as well. Again not the seller or manufactures issue but it makes a bad experience and leaves you wondering if a return item is being resent out as new.

Good looking product, but requires modifications to bring it closer to the rear bumper as it sits out too far on my Isuzu MU-X

It arrived in good shape and with not defects. Would give 5 stars except for the fact that the anti-rattle wedge was too thick to work with my 2" receiver. Less than 1/8" would slide into the receiver. I alternatively use 2" dark gray duct tape just inside where it fit into the receiver on the first hole. I also put two layers on the end, then cut the holes out with a small pocket knife. It is mounted perfectly straight (horizontal to the vehicle) with no rattles and looks great. My wife even likes it. She can step up when washing our 2015 Ford Escape and it protects the bumper (with sensors). It does not affect the functioning of the back-up or side approach sensors. Others have mentioned that the end caps can come off, so I was going to glue them on, but found that, even though they are loose around the edges, they are attached in the middle to some sort of a bracket, so I left them alone. For extra protection, I waxed it, including the rubber step, with Turtle Wax Ice, which doesn't turn white on black plastic or rubber. This should help protect against the step turning white over time as some have mentioned. It cost less than the plastic alternative brand, it sturdier (no flex when standing on it) and no sharp corners to bump your shin or knee on. And it looks great!

Item is exactly as described and was easy to install. The only negative thing I can think of after having the Step installed for a couple of months now is that the metal square tube that inserts into the received is starting to rust. I didn't expect this since it seems to be either power coated or painted.I can imagine it will get worse over time - my truck is in great condition and it frustrates me every time I see the rust on the Step. Will have to remove it from the truck, sand it down, and hit it with some black rustoleum I suppose.Update: 2/2/2013. Still holding up well on my Jeep. Wiring and chrome is all in tact, but rubber and plastic is starting to fade due to UV (the Jeep sits at a train station all day). I use Back to Black to bring back the black, and all is well again. Also, the plastic lens over the LED lights seems to oxidize frequently. I use Scratch X 2 on a rag and buff it out, good as new. I love this item.Update: 1/9/2014. Still on my truck. The plastic end caps on the hitch (that cover the metal tubes) has cracked in many places and fallen off. Assume this is due to UV exposure. The clear lens covering the LED light is starting to haze up from the inside now, and I'm not able to remove it with Scratch-X. Wiring is still in like-new condition, and it every LED still lights up as they should. Still highly visible at night. Haven't been hit from behind, so don't really know how this will stand up to a bumper bump, but probably going to take this off soon and replace with a folding hitch step.
