This is a fun little bit for the budding entomologist in your life. The pieces are not lab quality but they are kid quality. I enjoy the cards and that they offer continued conversation and learning about the insects found. Kids will very much enjoy using these to catch observe and release bugs. One thing that could be improved is the opening and closing of the lid. It’s not the smoothest transition and I foresee a learning process coming. I did find that one of the shoulder straps kept popping off. I had to work with it for a bit to make sure it would stay put. Could be a challenge for little ones who’ve got a smaller level of patience. Otherwise, it’s a fun set!

I gave these bug catchers to our twins for their third birthday and they love them! We’ve been out catching lightning bugs, worms, frogs, etc., to put inside the clear boxes and look at them. The magnified viewers makes it easy to see them up close. The doors open wide so we can easily get the bugs inside. There are straps on the bug boxes so they can wear them over their shoulders. You also get tweezers, clear grippers and nets to help catch the bugs, plus separate magnifying glasses to look at them. There are two sets of laminated cards with pictures of bugs to help identify them. These bug catching sets are a big hit.

First of all, there are TWO!! I have two grandsons who always want the same thing the other has so this is perfect! They went around the yard, caught several bugs right off, and really enjoyed these little kits. The only issue is that the opening is a bit wide for a bug like an ant, which is the easiest to catch but it got right out of the case. So on to grasshoppers and crickets, we went. We also picked up a few already dead bugs and were able to examine them. For my two little budding scientists, this was great fun. There are little cards with certain bugs already on them, but I do wish there were some blank ones since people will catch different bugs in different areas, and my grandson wants to keep a record of all the bugs he's caught and studied - then released, of course!

I have 2 young ladies who are at my house frequently critter hunting, ages 5 and 6. I've provided several jars with holes in the lids at times, but after a near miss with a dropped glass jar on the concrete I decided they needed some proper equipment! These bug catching kits (there are 2 included!) have everything they need for capturing and studying crickets, moths, even a couple of little sticky tree frogs. The magnifying glasses, both hand held and the one on the carriers, let them look up close at details, and I'm showing them how to be delicate with their nets and butterfly wings. They love learning about nature for a little while, then we turn the critters safely lose to live another day. Every kid should have one of these for summer days in the garden!

This bug catching kit is pretty neat, and will be used quite frequently by a bug-loving toddler. The kit itself is fairly rudimentary and does not require much dexterity to operate. The large container has a magnifying "glass" at the top to help visualize the bugs better, however, it's a bit hard to use and not necessary since the entire container is clear plastic. Just move closer to the container and can see the bug just fine. The kit also comes with a little hand-held magnifying "glass" which is easier to position for best bug viewing. The net is great. Tweezers a bit cumbersome but still useful. And there is a little bug catching tool in the shape of scissors, but its a little hard for a young child to use since it requires more complex hand coordination. I think having two sets of each item is very helpful since I can have one set it the car (for spontaneous outdoor adventures), and one at home. Can also use this in the bath tub with plastic/toy bugs for extra fun. The only thing that was a bit disappointing was the "Learning Cards" which included several spelling mistakes and misnomers e.g., Ladybird instead of ladybug. Otherwise, great little bug catching kit

This is a great value. Very fun and entertaining for kids. It’s easily worth more than what you pay for considering there are two sets included.-Bug Habitat with lanyard-Bug ID flashcards-Bug snatcher “scissors” as my 3 year old calls it-Tweezers-Themed magnifying glass-Bug netPros-A lot of bang for your buck with the amount of items you receive.Bug habitat has a built in magnifying glass.Lanyard makes it easy for the child to catch bugs unassisted. The tools seem sturdy although made of plastic. The netting is strong on the net.Good variety of tools for catching different types of bugs.Cons:The tweezers don’t work too well for small bugs like ants, it is a little too flimsy and not precise enough to grab them.

it came with multiple set and very engaging for kids. my both kids loved it but it didn't last long the net catcher lasted for like only a week before the net came out of the ring, the scissors were distorted only thing that's intact is the box where you the buds after catching the magnifying glass cause headache not a well quality even the plastic while holding seems like its so poor built
