It can be worn lots of different ways. Single layer for cool days, doubled up for colder weather. On coldest days I wear one on head and one around neck, bottom one can be pulled up to cover face balaclava style, with just eyes exposed. Regular wool is itchy, but this merino is not . easily stuffs in coat pocket when you get where you are going

We wear this head ware when we going snowshoeing. In cold weather activities, this gaiter is perfect for warmth and it breathes. This is super soft and no itch.I recommend this.

Yes please! This is exactly what I needed on a cold windy day. Doubles as a mask as well which is an extra bonus. I love this buff.

This is a great thing to have when out on cold windy days. Much more comfortable than a traditional wrap-around scarf, and great for keeping the wind chill away from the face. It also doubles as covid mask.

Purchased to keep my neck warm on cold winters days when driving to work with the top down. Coupled with a PDW watch cap and jacket it's kept me warm into the low 30s.Had Buffs before and played with all the different folds etc but this will just be a throat warmer.Would definitely buy again.P.S. not itchy even against freshly shaved skin.

I travel extensively to cold climates and spend most of my time outdoors and these are indispensable. When I have to quickly put my hair together, I can choose a colorful one of these and wear it as a headband, it works well as a gator in cold climates, and the lightweight ones work great for sun protection for the face. I prefer the midweight merino wool, but also have a few other fabrics for when I travel to polar regions and lightweight for the tropics.

Based on their Polyester Buff with Fleece Neckwarmer that I purchased a number of years ago in comparision to this latest purchase I haven't seen any difference or additional benefits by purchasing their Mid-weight Merino Wool Buff other than the wool should wick away body moisture a little better overall. Actually the wool one is shorter in length and it appears that the Fleece Neckwarmer on my original Buff provides better protection in cold weather. If this is there Mid-weight line of Merino Wool I wouldn't waste my money on their Light-weight ones unless I needed one during the spring or summer to wick away the sweat around my head but I usually wear a large brim military camo hat for those seasons for greater protection from the Sun.... In retrospect I probably wasted my money by buying the Mid-weight wool Buff....
