Designer Stencils Culinary Stencils

Designer Stencils has been designing original, pre-cut decorative stencils for 40 years!
From beginner to professional, chefs and bakers turn to Designer Stencils for their breadth of design, exquisite detail and food grade plastic that holds for repeated use. Our stencils make decorating your cookies, cakes, breads and pies quick, easy and a huge time saver! We offer an extraordinary number of cookie and cake decorating stencils. Our designers continually find new inspirational stencil designs to add to our growing collection. From holiday-themed to botanical and specialty designs, we have the stencils you need for any confection. All our cake and cookie stencils are of food grade quality; they’re safe to use with icings, airbrush guns, food coloring, or luster and petal dust. Our stencils work best when used on a non-sticky surface such as royal icing sugar cookies, fondant covered cakes, or chilled buttercream cakes. After you create your personal masterpieces with our stencils, rinse them with warm water and a gentle detergent to clean them properly. We only use high-quality, resilient plastic, so our decorating stencils will last for years.
Basic Culinary Stenciling in 4 Easy Steps
Position the Stencil
Position the food-grade stencil on a non-sticky surface (fondant, royal icing, etc.).
Apply Royal Icing
Trowel thicker royal icing (to prevent messy edges) and evenly spread the icing over the stencil with a scraper.
Brush with Food Grade Embellishments
Brush with powders/food color or sprinkle with fine sugars/spices.
Remove the Stencil
Remove the stencil gently and enjoy your edible design! *Pictured- Gather (edible powder), Grateful (cinnamon), Blessed (royal icing)
Ways to decorate with stencils:
Make a Raised Look
Trowel over the stencil with royal icing or buttercream to create a raised look. After removing the stencil, hand pipe some additional detail and/or add dimensional flowers to add your own creative touch.
Decorate your Plate
Spread colored piping gel or thick ganache over the stencil to decorate dessert plates.
Sprinkle Powders or Herbs
Easily decorate store bought cakes or your pre-baked breads and pie crusts by sprinkling fine powders or herbs over the stencil openings.
'Paint' Cakes or Cookies
Mix some lemon extract with luster dust to make a 'paint' or use food colors. Stencil it on your fondant cakes or royal icing covered cookies.
