NOTICE

1.This adapter is only for 3.5 mm headset. But not all 3.5mm audio jacks are made to the same standard. There are two audio jack standards:

Cellular Telecommunications Industry Association (CTIA)

Open Mobile Terminal Platform (OMTP)

If you use an OMTP headset, you will probably experience audio or chat issues. However, if your headset or earbuds use the OMTP standard, you need to purchase an adapter to convert the device to CTIA.

2.Make sure you update the driver before you use this headset adapeter.

3.This adapter is only fit for Xbox one controller without 3.5mm mic audio jack on rear shell.

2.This headset adapter for xbox one is easy to use,the only thing you have to do is update the controller driver when initially attach it.

3.Control the volume without needing to take your hand off the controller.

Not even sure of they make these anymore but I saw it in my previous purchases list and wanted to write a review. This product is a lifesaver.

Overall, the adapter works as expected. Bought this for another Microsoft adjacent controller for which it did not fit. It fits the Xbone controller just fine. The Audio jack is incredibly tight which isn't necessarily a bad thing.I bought mine used so I can be a bit more understanding but the packaging was a little messed up.

I liked that it works and was not $60. Which is what microsoft wanted for this piece. Obviously i use it for gaming on xbox.

PREFACE:I bought this adapter for my HyperX Cloud II gaming headset. I originally bought the Cloud IIs without doing my proper research, only to find out the full 7.1 surround sound setup with volume controls is not compatible with Xbox one (ONLY buy the cloud IIs for PC or PS4 if you want full 7.1). Because of that, there is the usb plug-in cord with volume and mute controls you cannot use (you can only use the direct aux cord plug-in that goes into the controller). The headset was so comfy and well made and didn't want to return it, even with the inability to get full 7.1 surround sound or have the volume controls, so I bought this adapter to solve my problems.ACTUAL REVIEW:It works amazing! It is exactly what I needed. The buttons are clear. You can adjust the slider between game volume and chat volume easily. You can adjust the volume easily. You can mute and un-mute easily, and there is even an indicator light to show when you're muted. The adapter seems very durable. I've seen comments about being an Chinese knockoff or that constant removal could ruin the prongs in the connection. I don't see this becoming an issue unless you drop your controller a bunch. It fits really snug. I've only been using it for a couple days, but I couldn't be more pleased. If this thing does crap out on me, or gives me issues, I'll be sure to circle back and update this review. Otherwise, I wouldn't hesitate buying this adapter.

Like others have mentioned this is not the manufacturers fault and I hate giving it this review but it does not work with official Xbox one controllers. I tried it on 4 controllers just to be sure (2 of mine and 2 from different friends) we even tried an elite controller. They were all updated and functioning properly. The problem was that no one can hear your microphone. While in party chat we could see that my microphone was activated but it was not being transmitted to other players. (However they were also able to see my microphone activating visually I’m party chat)Sadly Microsoft is making us buy directly from them when their 3.5 mm jack breaks like it always does(because apparently it’s not even soldered in place.

For 7 months my son's new Xbox One has not had a working headset. Stopped working mid game less a month after Christmas. 3 calls to Microsoft, literally 5.5 hrs, and was told to wait for a patch to come out, etc. Got a new headset (HyperX Cloud Core) as GameStop assured me it would work. No go. During last 2 hour marathon call with Microsoft, rebooting system, etc... was told specialist would call (never did) and suggested in passing to maybe try an adapter. I was hesitant to spend any more money but figured it was worth a shot. Screams came from my son"s room, as his Xbox recognized his headset for the first time in months. Worked out of the box. Only thing to mention is when controller batteries are low, headset is the first to die - we worried it was broken again, but just seems it needs a good battery charge to work well. Thank you!!!!!!!!!!

This quick little adapter snaps in to the charging port on the Xbox controller and you then plug your headphone set into the adapter. The adapter needs no charging as it is true plug and play. The adapter places five audio functions right where you need them - by your hands, with large buttons. The symbols on each button are raised, making it easy to locate which button you need in the dark. The matte black color is not distracting and there are no LEDs to draw your eye. The overall shape of the adapter blends smoothly with the controller. The adapter does what is touted, seems sturdy, and is a fair price for an accessory that will be used frequently.
