The difference between grade 316 and 304 grade stainless steels
The most basic difference between grade 316 and grade 304 stainless steels is that 316 tends to have more nickel and a bit of molybdenum in the mix.
The increased nickel content and the inclusion of molybdenum allows for grade 316 stainless steel to have better chemical resistance than 304 stainless steel. It’s ability to resist acids and chlorides, including salt, makes grade 316 ideal for chemical processing and marine applications.

These are thick and sturdy. I have them mounted on a hatch where they are in an "L" shape with the hatch closed and the hinges close up and touch when the hatch is open. Mounting screws are included but use caution if you are screwing into fiberglass. I used rivets instead.

Very solid feeling, both in heft and in the hinge movement itself. There is no wobble when moving the hinge on its pin. Also very polished and shiny.
