Very nice tool. Took me like 2 minutes to remove a stuck gimbal bearing in my Volvo Penta SX. I used 30mm open end wrench. Make sure you add extra grease or oil on the tool's threads.

While there were no instructions, and I was a little leary about pulling this bearing, I gave it a try this morning. I started by pinching the ends of the puller together so that it would fit into the bearing. Then after removing the center plunger, I threaded the puller onto the plate about halfway. Then pushed the end of the puller thru the bearing and positioned the plate over the outdrive studs, I pushed the plunger in to open the puller inside the bearing and gave it a few taps with a hammer. I then took a crescent wrench and backed the puller out. The bearing came out easily. In all it took maybe 5 minutes. I was using it on a mercruiser alpha 1 gen 2 1992 boat. Well worth the money.

I watched alot of YouTube videos on how to remove gimbal bearings. I would say 75% of them said to use a slide hammer to remove a gimbal bearing . So as per video I tried the slide hammer trick please dont waste your time like I did with this method . Wasted a day trying to remove the bearing with slide hammer so I bit the bullet and purchased this puller. This puller is worth every penny easy to follow instructions . I used the puller exactly how the instructions stated and the bearing came out so easy that I figured I was doing it wrong till the bearing came out. I Would highly recommend this tool to anyone who likes to do there own repairs on their boat .
