I have this Radiometer placed in direct sunlight, and it does not work.I believe it's a manufacturing defect of some kind.I've had Radiometers in the past which worked perfectly, but NOT this one.I Do NOT Recommend purchasing this item.

Good-works well. A bit pricey-should be less than $30.

This was on my wishlist for a while because I just love the physics behind it. I have a different brand that looks like a lightbulb. It is a solid design and I really enjoy it but when I got this one and they were operating side by side.... This one was just zooming so fast compared to the other one. It is very sensitive and I love the blue color. If you know someone who is a physics enthusiast or just likes cute little gadgets, this is a great gift.

This is an absolutely beautiful product, stylish and perfectly functional. The vanes begin to spin even in relatively low light, and in direct sunlight spin with astonishing speed. I leave it on a windowsill and am inspired by it several times a day. This would make a wonderful present for nearly anyone

So far this radiometer is working very well, much better than a cheaper Edmund Scientific one I used to have that I regularly had to tap to get the movement started, even in bright light. And it looks a lot nicer with those cool blue glass accents, too.
