it needs a swivel, at least one on top or bottom...i put one strong swivel on the top hook. this way the load and pull rope wont be getting turned around wrong; but can be kept where you want them. i plan to add 100 foot of rope, as it comes it will raise and lower well from 8 foot or so. i need a 10 to 15 foot raising and lowering range; so i will string a longer rope into this thing.

I wanted to simplify lifting the back of a 366 lb mower, to clean the underside of the deck (after placing the mower on stands). This block & tackle (BT) is supposed to have a 7:1 lift ratio.I doubt that the back of the mower weighs more than 200 lb because I can lift it easily enough. That means that with the BT I should be pulling less than 30 lb. It sure seems to be much more than that. The reason may be that the rope is hard and wants to get twisted. I have considered replacing the rope (with one I already have), to see what effect that would haveSetting up is difficult. The rope tends to get tangled into a mess, and the hooks don't swivel.3 stars because the BT only costs some $25, and it is much better than nothingI ended up buying an electric winch. That's what I should have done instead of buying this BT.

Works very well, out of the box. It would be nice to have a simple instruction sheet.

Works well. Be sure you have something to tie off to if you plan to keep item in the air. I used for hanging deer

I bought this for an indoor project as the one I had was getting on in years and the rope was becoming stiff the price of rope was close to the price I paid for this. when it came I found it was bigger than expected each block is about the size of your hand. this makes it far more efficient than the little one I had. run the rope through another pully attached to the floor and its even better. what used to be a bit of a strain to lift is now a breeze two thumbs up

I haven’t fully installed the pulley yet but should have it working shortly. So far it has met my expectations and it should be easy to finish with mt setup.

It's not necessarily the products fault but I am highly irritated that no one explained 65 feet on a 7:1 pulley system extends less than 10 feet. I was needing to use this pulley for a 35 foot length which will require 245 feet of rope at the ABSOLUTE BARE MINIMUM. I wish these companies would explain how all this works.
