Wasnt really expecting to be a perfect press, but putting it together was an absolute pain in the butt, instructions were really vague, and it doesnt even stand up straight even after putting a square on it and re tightning the bolts. Very cheap in my opinion would absolutely not purchase again!

I'm used to 'some assembly required'. Let's just put it this way.. don't even start on this if you are in a hurry or are feeling frustrated in any way. This press comes completely disassembled. You'll need sockets as well as box wrenches. I started off with an adjustable wrench but some of the bolts are in very tight areas. The assembly instructions are very rudimentary and mainly consist of a parts list and a couple of line drawings. However, the line drawings are not totally accurate. It wasn't impossible, but I had to go slowly and methodically. It will seem as if it is really out of alignment but as you tighten up it does come into square. There are no operating instructions at all, so if you aren't familiar with these presses I suggest you Google or check YouTube. With that aside, it presses as it is supposed to. I don't know that I would use it if you really needed 6 tons of pressure, but for the relatively small metal punch jobs I need it for, it is fine.

A simple but very effective press for certain applications. Lots of bolts, nuts, washers and plates but no big deal to assemble. Note carefully the operating range to make sure it's right for you.

4.3" claimed is before you add the required plate to hold the workpiece. I could not use this to press my 3.95" part until I cut down the ram with an angle grinder and cutoff wheel. Minus one star for crappy instructions, minus one for difficulty keeping it square and wobble free (squared after assembly, tightened everything down, wobble returned after a few minutes of use), and minus one for misleading specs in description. That said, once everything was modified to fit it worked well. I would NOT recommend modifying the ram and then using it near the max load...my operation needed about 1 ton of pressure.

I needed this for a small jewelry shop and it fill the bill perfectly. However the instructions are pretty much useless so you do need some mechanical abilities so you can get it squared. But it's what it says and works fine for our small operation.

Bought this press to use as a strong stamping machine, and it works wonderfully. Very easy to use and has a solid frame. Only drawbacks (very minor) is that the bottom of my press cylinder is not perfectly flat and can leave a small indent in the material that is being pressed (even the solid metal press plates). Also to note is that the press plates are not perfectly flat either. Still, it gets the job done.

This is a neat little shop press. Assembly instructions where a little difficult to follow but I got the job done in couple of hours. Once everything was finger tight I put the press under pressure and the press aligned itself nicely. Tightened everything up and it was good to go. Next time I take this apart and put it back together I'm going to add some spring lock washers to get it really solid. Overall a great compact tool and Excellent frame design. I would recommend to anyone looking for a shop press.

This is a great little press and is exacly as advertised. I discounted it one star because it arrived with the packing torn and missing screws that had fallen through the hole. Not a problem for me since I have lots of screws laying around looking for something to do.Assembly went smootly and the press is supprisingly well engineered. Not a real accurate as far as the spindle being square with the world but a little judicious tapping here and there with a mallet durring assembly got things pretty close.Bottom line is that it is a well engineered, relatively inexpensive press and it does the job I got it for.

It arrived VERY quickly...surprisingly so, but it seems it was shipped from PA where I live so this makes sense. It arrived all in one piece...barely. The box showed it is a heavy item (50+lbs) and took a beating on the way. No problems...everything was there and nicely wrapped so no damage at all. If you're expecting this to make it all the way across the country it might need a more secure package to ensure it'll survive.Open the box, and was surprised and delighted at the powder-coated pieces. Very nice...especially for such a low priced device. You might be intimidated at first by the number of parts involved..25 or so not counting the fasteners, but don't worry it all fits together logically and you've got a couple detail pictures to guide you.During assembly it is possible to get things very crooked as there are a bunch of links all bolted together. I did my best and had it looking pretty straight and even but it still wobbled a tad on the floor. One of the the things that appealed to me about this press is the design which should self-center itself when force is applied by the ram. I stacked the thick metal table plates supplied (as cast surface, not machined so it won't hold precision parts) and pumped the ram down and put some pressure on it and two quick 'snap's later it had stretched and pulled all the parts to the limits of each hole...which made it feel solid and now it sits squarely on the table top. The precision of the hole locations is critical to something like this working right...and they did a spot-on job on this one. Very nice.As of yet, I haven't used it to perform its' primary function here as a motorcycle cam gear pressing tool, but the SV1000 cams are very short so the table height will work just fine. There is NOT a ton of room on this press...3 1/2" from ram to top of plate with table set at lowest position. Go between the table to the bottom beam is 7" and it will allow 1/2" between the angles. They are pretty thin and could easily be relieved to allow up to 2 1/2" object no problems. So, even being so small this press could accommodate much larger objects with slight modification so don't overlook it for being so compact. To be honest, if they'd offered this same press a foot taller I'd have gone with it just for that extra room that who knows what will be needed in the future. But I like the press a lot. Rob
