Cheap and works. Can feed with 1 or 2 circuits, either combining or separating the switch and the receptacle feed.The light switch does NOT control the receptacle, regardless how you configure it using the included instructions. If you want to do that, you just need to break away the tab on the hot side and run your switched hot (coming OUT of the switch) as power in for the receptacle; they already share the ground and neutral so nothing changes there. If that doesn't make sense, just hire an electrician, it should take them 30 seconds to figure it out.

I live in a Condo and installing them could be an issue if inspected, not worth taking the chance..

Note that out-of-the-box these are designed so that the switch controls the outlet. You can break off a brass tab on the right side if you want the outlet always on and use the switch for a separate circuit.

I ordered this switch/receptacle combo because I wanted to have an outlet near the door where the switch to my light fixture is. I have some experience with rewiring simple things and many people claimed this (and the decora version) installed easily. To my dismay, the instructions consisted of a circuit schematic with two words on it "hot" and "neutral" and an instruction to install according the diagram. After several hours of internet research I then discovered I needed to add a pigtail the neutral wires already in the box to energize the outlet. Since I didn't have any Romex wire sitting around, I had to make an additional purchase to proceed with the installation. It seems to work now, but I giving it three stars for the lack of instructions.
