This set is even better than I expected. I'd been holding off on getting a knitting set because the ones I'd seen had grey yarn, and I just wasn't into that. The sapphire blue in this one is gorgeous. But the other items are what make it shine. The instruction booklet is *chef's kiss* amazing. Easy to read with instructions on how to do the basic steps of knitting (with pictures!!) as well as printed patterns for each of the items. The URL for the digital patterns is provided in full and also as a QR code. And the kit includes four different sizes of pom pom makers! I didn't already have pom pom makers in the my crochet tools, so these are tools that aren't a duplicate for me. While I picked up crocheting pretty easily (I first learned as a child, so it was easy to relearn it), knitting has been a new and slightly frustrating enterprise. This set makes me excited to try again.

Cute little kit that comes with a few small skeins of blue yarn, 2 wooden needles and a variety of 4 pom-pom makers. Honestly the pom-pom makers are really what had me for this kit, as i am generally just a crochet artist. However with this little kit i think i might give knitting a try!

This isn't that easy, there is one part I couldn't get past in the first section. (The yarn ended up messing up on me and I gave up after spending all night trying to do it, not giving up but after hours & hours, all night of no progress I gave up.). π’I didn't like doing that either, I have waited my whole life for a chance to learn and then this happened... ππ’π’π’ Was not happy at all!!!Unless, you know someone who can help or you know how to help the kid yourself, please be realistic. You can still get this but buy extra yarn because all of this yarn may be used for practicing and end up unusable for said purpose. Just being realistic!!!!!With that said, kne this wasn't going to be easy.. but this was the only set ai could get and I knewI needed to start with other things first but I needed a kit because I am a complete newb and don't know what to get, don't know what things are, don't know anything about this at all.Plus, the money on top of that was also a factor.I also want to note, how I like the color blue and was happy that it was blue. Blue is a pretty and calming color on my personal opinion.This set can be frustrating, but if you or someone you know can help the learner if they need help & guidance then this is a good set.. I would say, but if not.. if the learner is learning from no knowledge at all, no help or guidance at all, then I would have to ask this question... "How is their find moder skills?", how is their precision?! Because, I believe this is a huge factor in may why I struggle so much. (Just an idea, but also thinking with minimal brain power...) Anyways, I wish you or whomever you get it for Luck! π They are going to need it!!!This is a good item, when gotten for the right person. ππ©·πβ£οΈ

I do a lot of crochet kits and was excited to see this knit kit. My hope was this kit would allow me to learn to knit enough to finish something. I was disappointed.First off, this yarn was very splitty. This made it very difficult for a newbie complete stitches - even a newbie that is extremely comfortable with yarn. A better yarn needs to be used. I would recommend a yarn that can't split like chenille, tube, or t-shirt yarn. The patterns aren't inspiring. The booklet and videos were not very supportive. If a kit like this is to work, it needs to bring something to the table that you can't get from a ball of any yarn and youtube.

There aren't nearly as many beginner knitting kits as there are crochet kits, and it's understandable because knitting is a steeper learning curve and so a bit more daunting. There is a LOT going on when a project is knitted. This step by step kit teaches the classic long tailed cast-on, and uses the Continental method of holding the yarn. This is good especially for those who already crochet, and want to learn knitting, because the yarn is held in the same hand. The instruction book is very thorough, and the videos are terrific--though of course, there are lots of additional videos and demonstrations all over YouTube and infinite styles of knitting and stitches to learn, that's the beauty of it. Lifelong learning.This kit contains bamboo needles, which are ideal for beginners struggling to control the yarn and not drop stitches. Bamboo needles give you time to think and learn to focus, without penalizing you by letting a bunch of loops fall off. They pretty much won't let you carry excessive tension in the knitting, because if it's too tight, it won't move. So they do help with learning proper tension, and they feel reassuring in the hand. The yarn is a good choice, a light worsted or DK weight that does have a tendency to split but will hold together very well if the tension is good. Very soft, nice cheerful color. Speaking of cheerful, there are pompom makers. With 20 years of knitting experience, I've never made a pompom, and it's a wonderful thing to include. Four patterns all made with the knit stitch alone, and limiting it to one stitch provides the opportunity to focus on learning tension, how to hold the yarn, and the basics of following a pattern without having to worry about when to purl.It's a kit that wants the beginner to succeed. And with all this support, I think they will.

Review For: BeKnitting Knitting Kit for Beginners Adults & Kids - Learn to Knit - Yarn, Pompom Makers, Needles & Other SuppliesPackaging was great and comes with everything in the sellerβs photos. Iβm middle aged and have always wanted to learn to knit. I chose this kit because it says itβs for beginners β the problem, Iβm left handed and all the instructions are for right handers.So, as a lefty, I had to actually learn online from other left-handers. Basically, this kit provided the tools, but instructions werenβt as easy for me to use as for right-handers. Not going any lower than 4 stars because most people are right-handed.
