I had never used a brush of this type before. It holds a lot of stain and is nice and soft so you can get in all the small spots easily. Using a telescoping 6 foot handle, I could do all the outsides of my deck without getting on a ladder. Deck bottom is 9 feet off the ground. It takes a while to clean all the stain out of it, but is worth it. I used water based stain. Oil based stain would take quite a bit longer to clean, and if you don't do it right, the brush will likely be too stiff to do a good job.

Used this to stain a cedar wood deck and it worked great. The long bristles did good at holding a large amount of the stain and was able to get in between the woods easily. Highly recommend.

Worked great...once I fixed it. First few brush pushes, the for 'tiny' screws popped out and it fell apart. Went into my work bench, got for more larger screws and replaced the tiny ones...screwed them in tightly and finished the deck. 5 stars for performance...0 zero stars for durability...

I usually use a 7" paint pad to stain my deck. Given my deck was in such tough shape this time around, I decided to give this brush a try after reading reviews. It did not disappoint. What I found was that this brush did a better job than the paint pad at getting into small cracks and spaces between the planks. Sometimes, I had to change the direction and/or angle of the brush head but I was able to get into all the places I wanted to stain with it. In short, the brush gave me better coverage and control. Effort wise, it took a little more force on the pole to spread the paint but it was not tiring for this old guy . If there is one drawback to the brush, it is that it doesn't hold much stain. Working from a roller tray that had a good 1"+ of stain in it, the brush would only hold enough solid stain to cover 4 square feet of bare wood at a time. It did slightly better at 6-8 sf on the second coat. Durability wise, I was able to stain a 750 sf deck, with two coats ( 1500 sf and 4.5 gal total), over 6 different work sessions with this one brush without it deforming/falling apart. For cleaning, all I did was wrap the unwashed brush in a double plastic shopping bag and freeze it between uses. When I finally cleaned it with soap and water at the end of the project, it took a while but cleaned up decently enough that I can use it again for touch ups in future years.

I was very impressed with this brush after receiving it. It came in a beautiful box with a bristle comb and a key chain bottle opener. Wow, I thought I was getting a deck brush, but this was packaged really well. So the result after applying Valspar water based cedar stain to about 1,100 sg/ft of dock is that it was excellent to apply, very easy to mix and apply, spreads really well and looks great. Also, it drys within two hours in low humidity. It’s a go to for me. Not the cheapest or the most expensive, but it did a great job and I just hope it looks as good in another few years. It say 4 on the can, but only time will tell. South Florida salt air, humid and hot weather will speed up the degeneration. All in all, 5 Star.

This works perfectly.....there is no better (or easier) way to finish a deck. I took the brush outside prior to using, and repeatedly fanned the bristles, then used the enclosed comb to remove any loose bristles (there were only a few). I also snugged-down on all the screws, since others had mentioned possible loosening. The brush loaded well with stain, the coverage was great, and I had zero shedding of bristles. Coverage was superior to stain pads, and rollers. And finally, I could not believe how well it cleaned up; it's good for at least another use....but even if I had tossed it after one use, I would still consider this brush a steal, and worthy of 5 stars....

I bought this deck brush thinking it would help me get the job done quicker. I was right and so glad that I bought it. Has good value nice and thick the Brussels. Moved the stain over my deck with ease. And I was done faster and did a very good job by myself and I'm a woman. It was so easy to use. And it was sturdy it held up well. The durability was great and even came with a comb to clean it out with now.I have it in storage so I have it ready when I do my front porch next year. My deck looks great. What a good idea.

I've used a lot of various types of paint brushes, and this one was by far the most pleasant one to use! It is big with nice soft, firm bristles that laid out the timber oil on my deck so smoothly and with good, but not excessive coverage. It was easy to clean up and is ready to go on the next project. Highly quality construction. The company that makes it seems to have very good customer service as well.
