There are a lot of-nice looking door knockers out there at multiple price points. Most times you get what you pay for. I purchased this Baldwin for the following reasons- a) it is elegant in its simplicity, b) it is just large enough and heavy enough to actually function as a door knocker c) it is offered at a fair price for the quality and d) it is easy enough to install. (Of note: this door knocker will require you to drill holes through the door - for me no big deal - just painted over the screws to match the door) Highly recommend.!

If you’re looking for a heavy duty, well-made door knocker, this is it! It was fairly easy for my husband and I to install. Some reviewssaid the screws weren’t long enough, but we didn’t find that to be true. We have a Thermatru craftsman fiberglass door, and they were just the right length. Just be careful to measure correctly. We used the template and it’s 1/4 inch off-center. Ugh, but we’re living with it! Also, we used a 3/16 drill it, not a 1/4, which was suggested in the directions. Be aware that this screws all the way through the door, so you’ll have screw heads on the inside. I actually kind of like the look!
