I was pleasantly surprised, based on the cost, at the quality of the fabric. The shirt is thick & soft. Would look good worn alone or under a shirt.

It is a semi-soft cotton and washed well. I'd say a medium thickness to it. It was perfect to put under my son's Halloween costume. Looks nice and the neck line was just right in length for son, not too high or low.
