Works as advertised for my M40x's, twists but doesn't lock (although it does hold) in the headset like OEM cables, a little bulky but no notable difference in audio quality.

The keyway for the locking mechanism is not long enough to allow it to lock fully. As seen in the picture the alignment marks are in line with the opening rather than the locking position. It does still work but may not stay in when handing a lot. It's definitely cheaper or thinner material but I don't think it would necessarily affect the sound. It would be more of a durability issue. Returning for the original even through it cost more. I work in audio and need it to be rock solid.

Scam. Do not buy. Completely wrong sized jack on headphone end of cord, not compatible with models as described.

This is the best quality and sound cable I've used on my Yamaha headphones since I got them. I've been through a few cables which are difficult to find because of the fit into the base of the headphone. Luckily I found this and it was a purchase def worth making. In fact I may buy a couple more just to have one hand should my cat happen to nibble through it. Highly recommended for the sound quality alone, it will change your headphones. And it's not a long studio one that comes with it.

This cable is just as good quality as the original, it doesn't have any problems with the smaller locking end, unlike many other 3rd party cables. It is a fair price, and includes 1/4 adapter.

I purchased this to replace a lost ATH-M50 coiled cable. It was reasonable priced and sounds fine. Connectors all seem solid. We'll see how it it holds up but initial use tells me it's a pretty good purchase.

This replacement cable worked as advertised. It's my second one purchased. The original wire and this replacement seem to have the same issues. Over time the portion of the cable insulation between the coiled portion to the actual headset hardens up over time (about 4 to 5 years) and eventually movement will cause this hardened area to cause the wires to break inside. I rated it a 5 because it appears to be an identical replacement to the original that same with the headset and it lasted as long as the original albeit with the same end result. I can't say that for durability it's bad because it matches the original in that category. I hope the company can use a better wire covering that doesn't harden up over time which would add some longevity (maybe double it) over time. Since it seems to be an exact match in durability and quality I recommend this product 100% if you are looking for a replacement.
