Spray paint on my helmet, you can see where they sprayed over a darker coat to make the red/matte finish. Purchase instead from Easton company direct. Don't go through this company.

Great helmet! I bought two of these - one for a 10 year old, the other for a 15 year old. Both took a size small. It does seem to run big. I'm average weight and 5'9". The large was too big for me. One helmet has been used for almost a full year, thru travel season and high school season. It's held up great. The E decal on front has come off, but no big deal. It's a good fitting helmet.

Sizing is larger than described, as mentioned by others. Based upon reviews, we ordered small for our 13yr old daughter with 22"/hat-7 head size and had to tighten the back piece all the way in just to keep it from clunking around laterally when she moved.We bought this to replace a Mizuno Samurai that she left at the field a couple weeks ago, and she says it is not nearly as comfortable. (However, at 2/3 discount through Amazon warehouse, we might just make her use this anyway until she learns to keep track of her gear).Padding is hard, and for my 21" circumference head this thing clunked around painfully with every movement when I tested it, so if your daughter is actually in the measurements for "small", you might have a problem if she is a catcher who moves.To the reviewer who commented that his was a refurb - you are not the only one. The one we got has a crack line, chips, and a couple of glue glops on the inside near the jaw pad. Since the outside is pristine and new-looking, my guess is that we got a refurb too.

My daughter has the Easton Mako FP Helmet, it was getting old so we purchased the new version (Prowess). The Prowess helmet runs bigger. Like the white mask better. Our season hasn't started yet but once it does Ill update on the quality. Hopefully the new version of Easton FP catching gear, coming out in Aug 2019 will be much better.

Ordered in May delivered late July. Fit for my daughter not as good as I hoped. My daughter has always used Easton and loves their catcher hemets, but the chin pad does not sit as good as I hoped when adjusted for her head. Only used during practice so far but I liked the older helmets more so far.
