Works great! Be careful how high the assembly is before you change it out. Now if i lay on the window switch it will bounce back from the top. I have to time it to take my finger off when it gets to the top. My fault tho the piece works great

Using the existing mechanism as a reference. It was an easy installation for replacing the broken one. I use an 05 Passat 5.5 wagon for my daily driver. I had to drill out a couple of factory rivets that secured the mechanism. The new unit came with new bolts to secure it in place. Helpful hint. Use a step bit to make slightly larger holes where the rivets used to be. A step bit will help center the holes and not hang up when drilling the thinner metal. There are a lot of videos that will instruct you for door panel removal. If you're having trouble resetting the glass, check to make sure you're clearing the weather strip. If you change your own oil and spark plugs. You got this covered.

Worked great just, strong, this has a bolt on i think it was and I didn't have to rivet so that was great to install like oem

Worked as expected. Hardest part was drilling out the old rivets. Tip: loosten the bolt on the two window clamps before you install it. Otherwise, you have to raise/lower to access the bolt through the panel and loosten it before you can slide the glass in. Also, some of the door trip retaining clips broke. It would be a good idea to buy some replacements clips ahead of time.

The item arrived quickly. The packaging was poor since there was nothing in the box to keep the metal bits from busting through the cardboard which led to a hole in the side and a nut missing. (note: if you're in a hurry to replace your window mechanism and missing a nut from this kit upon arrival, go to the hardware store and purchase one. they are metric and you need it). Other than that the kit went together very quickly and worked very well. I didn't realize upon purchasing that I needed to drill out the OEM mechanism's rivets holding it in but took my time with a sharp drill bit. Fit and worked great. Took longer to take the door panel apart to get to the darn broken one than it took to install the new one.great price and product.
