I'm a hobby machinist, and for the price range, this dial indicator is pretty nice. It works just fine for my needs, and the dial seems smooth and reads well. The finish on it looks fine, and it looks well put together. I think it works great for a hobby machinist or the home machinist. At the very least, it makes a great spare or backup until you get a better one. I see no problems with it.
