I really like this boot/shoe. My only complaint, is the durability of the tread. I realize this is a hiking boot, but I had hoped the tread would hold up better on pavement. I'm a police officer, and I wear them daily on pavement (almost all of the 3 month life span has been pavement) and the tread has worn by more than half. It is a good quality shoe, but I would recommend something more durable for pavement wear.An additional note, I have a narrow foot. However, I still really appreciate the open toe box! (Way more than I thought I would). The open toe box does NOT make the shoe loose elsewhere, which is a really positive note. It is still snug on the heal and mid sole, so it doesn't feel like my foot is lost in a wide shoe.

this product is not water proof or water resistant in the slightest. A tiny bit of wet instantly goes through.

I love the comfort, ease of tightening, and overall coverage these boots afford me.

These are probably the most comfortable trail shoes I have ever owned. They require zero break in, and hte wide toe box makes for a comfy fit. Treads are grippy and make you feel sure footed. The ankle support and feel are that of a much heavier shoe. Highly recommended!

These photos are after wearing 10 times. Mixture of hiking and trail running.Purchased for primarily hiking and trying some trail running. With that being said, I’ve worn these less then 10 times since purchased on December 30th and since have found one of the lace eyelets/ anchors to break after a trail run. I took photos and informed ALTRA and they stated that they will not be able to fulfill their warranty due to not purchasing from their store directly. These shoes were not cheap and should be able to withstand the slightest bit of “rough wear” being that is what they were made for. I also missed the return window through Amazon because they broke shortly after the window closed. I am not pleased with this product at all. Durability should be above else for such a product.

I loved these boots they were comfy and did exactly what I had hoped. They provided a zero drop waterproof option to the standard walking boot. The wide toe box was a dream. However, 5 months later having used them for only modest albeit wet countryside walks the upper has a hole in it. Not so water proof any longer. The soles have plenty of life left after around 500miles. As a result I cannot recommend these boots based on the poor durability of the upper.

A friend recommended Ultra after I mentioned I was looking for a new hiking shoe/boot. I only have 10 miles on them, so yes they are brand new, but these are one of the most comfortable shoes I've ever worn! The fit for my foot is perfect, they are comfortable at the heel and have a great fit at the ball of my foot, which is where so many shoes are too tight. The shoes are light and very comfortable on the trail. I have not gone through water in them and therefore didn't have anything to report on their water resistance.

This is my fourth pair of ALTRAs and the best of them all. Fully waterproof and remarkably light, with some ankle support but not overly so. I use them for gym, walking the neighborhood on pavement, light jogging, and then for heavily-loaded-backpack hikes on muddy, filthy terrain as depicted here. Just the right amount of cushion and the zero-drop allows for feeling the ground and the right gait.

Love the wide toe box and the cushioning for a zero drop shoe. I think it is just a manufacturing defefect, but i have had to rezglue the sole on the right shoe in three different places. Yes, normally would return them, but each time the sole has seperated while on a trip. If i didn't have that issue, these would definitely be a 5 star.

So these boots are awesome. I’ve got quite a few miles in them now. Extremely durable. Extremely water resistant. And comfortable except for I have extra wide feet. Normally need double wide options. The wide toe box is awesome but if they were just a little wider they’d be perfect. Still true to size for normal/narrow feet.

used for walking. Wide toebox prevents bruided toenails (reason for purchase) and all round comfortable fit. After first use appears to have slightly less grip than my previous Inov8 boots (see photo for tread patterns). However, I was, at one point, walking on a challenging muddy slop.
