My auto dimming feature doesn't seem to work. It's supposed to dim down to 50% after 6 hours and then 30% after 9 hours. I'm figuring the timed dimming switch, needs to be in the ON position. Has anyone had this problem?

This is a very bright light. Have it set on the middle setting and it works great. I like the setting that gives you 6 hours of bright and then 3 hours to middle setting and then the low setting til daylight.

I purchased this light as a replacement for my old 175W Mercury Vapor barn light whose ballast had developed a too-loud buzz, not knowing what to expect. The adjustable choices for light color and brightness intrigued me, as I'm big on 'light ambience' on my property at night and almost all of these LED barn lights are 'ultra bright daylight white', which I didn't want. The 175W MV light is rated at 7700 Lumens, and this light is rated at 12k lumens at it's brightest setting. I wired it up for 80W at 4000k and when the sun went down...damn they were not kidding. This light is considerably brighter than my old MV light - at less than half the power draw! The 4000k color setting is a nice warm amber hued white light and looks great. Positioned on a mounting arm about 12' up at the peak of my garage, it lights up my entire driveway all the way to the street. Very impressed.I also have to mention the quality of the light housing. It's cast aluminum, very sturdy, and the adjustable angle is a really nice feature to aim the light where you want it. I could not be more impressed with the features and quality for this price. I hope it lasts as long as my old HID light did!My only gripe would be that the dusk-till-dawn eye doesn't seem to be replaceable, but at this price who cares. Also, and this is just me being particular about color, I would love if an LED light like this could mimic the eerie blue/green wash that the old Mercury Vapor lamps put off. I've always loved that color tone, it reminds me of the farm I grew up and old 80's horror flicks like The Thing. I've sourced a new ballast for my trusty old Mercury Vapor lamp, and am going to reinstall that on a separate switch just so I can have that glow when I feel like it.This LED light, however, is the new 'always on' security light for my place. Great job!!

This is an LED barn light with the options to set color temperature and wattage as well as timed dimming; features not normally found on this type of light. It includes a photocell as well.My Kill A Watt meter showed the 80W/60W/40W readings at 77 watts, 55 watts and 35 watts respectively. It claims 12,000 lumens brightness, but LEDs are typically rated at 75-110 lumens per watt and 80 watts times 110 equals 8,800 lumens. So I'm pretty sure this light doesn't output 12,000 lumens, although it's pretty bright. The switches to select the various settings are mounted behind a threaded plug, but the switches are oriented vertically whereas the installation manual shows the switches oriented horizontally. There is a label on the top of the light near the hole plug that shows the switches in the correct orientation however, but once exposed to the weather for a while that label will be unreadable, so you should take a photo of the label or make a note if you think you might change the settings later. The timed dimming feature means you can set the light to dim to 50% brightness after it's been on for 6 hours. Then the light will run at 50% brightness for 3 hours, then dim to 30% until it turns off. This is presumably for energy savings that might be desirable to some. The light is made entirely of metal with the exception of the plastic light lens. It can be mounted either with the three bolt flange base typical of yard lights, or on a pipe up to about 1.7 inch in outside diameter. It also has an arm that allows the head to be angled up and down with respect to the wall it's mounted on.This is well built light with a few added features not found on many models of compact yard lights.

Bought for a security light over MILs garage door. Has multiple settings for both wattage and color. Great at night, set to come on automatically by photocell.
