LOLwut? NeoPixels in 5mm through-hole variety? Oh yes, we haz them! If you like NeoPixel strips you'll luv these 5mm diffused through-hole NeoPixels. All the single-pin-controlling-hundreds-of-LEDs goodness in a breadboard friendly format. Each LED looks just like a shorter version of the classic through-hole 5mm RGB LED with 4 legs, but instead of just red/green/blue there's a little chip inside that can control the LED with high speed PWM for 24-bit color. These are the diffused type instead of the Neopixel Clear 5mm LEDs. They look a lot like the 8mm variety but are smaller.

These are chainable, and run on 5 VDC with a digital addressing scheme just like the Neopixel products. However, you'll need to define them as RGB' instead of the usual 'GRB' format used in most Neopixel products. Other than that, range and complexity of color patterns is just as good!

works great just messed up my programming, after fixing that they work

I used these to add LED indicators to my old IBM keyboard. They are spot on when it comes to color and brightness.

I am using these as a status indicator with an ESP8266. Libraries to drive them are readily available on GitHub. Unlike the WS2811, these work on 3.3v and are plenty bright. It's recommended you place a .1uf capacitor across the power legs and a 470 ohm resistor on the signal lead in series.

I have 10 of these in a chain, driven by a Teensy 3.5. They work perfectly, once I did a bit of fiddling.I use DMA in the Teensy to drive these. They were a bit unstable until I changed the PWM waveform timing to 80% on-time, 20% off-time, for each "1" bit. Even a 70% on-time gave uneven results.I used to think the Neopixels are center-sampling on the input waveform; now I think the sampling runs a bit late.Do provide the drive resistor, and bypass each LED. They're noisy on the power lines...

Great product to generate any color at any light intensity. I use as a multi functional status indicator.

Left one cycling through colors and had it powered via an esp8266 with 3v3 power with no issue. Worked on 5v as well without issue.
