I usually break a couple of starter ropes per season with my various mowers and implements. I had one that was frayed and looked like it may only have a couple of pulls left in it. So that's the one I replaced with one of these. The cord appeared to be a similar diameter and was luckily just an inch or two longer, so I didn't bother cutting it. It was a fairly easy install and appears to do the job.
