Nice slide hammer for lighter duty tasks like non rusted bearing pulling etc. I don’t think you could ever get a rusted on hub off with this short of a shaft and light of a hammer. That’s not to say it’s not solid or well built, because everything in there is. Just don’t think it’s that much weight for something like a hub or a CV stuck in a carrier etc. It doesn’t come with those attachments either, but us mechanical people find a way to make stuff like this work for anything useful lol. It definitely is nice for the money especially if you’re in need of a tool like this. Can’t ever hurt to have around even if you’re just a shade tree mechanic.

Right out of the gate, growing up in the Rust Belt teaches you how NOT wrench on things. Fasteners exposed to years of snow and road salt are among the 1st things you'll break, including the tools used to remove them if you fail to use finesse vs. impatient force. I've broken name brand tools on galled-in bearings when in a hurry and this tool is not immune. The use of properly applied heat, solvents and technique outside the Mongo mentality will assist with bearing removal and tool longevity.My biggest complaint with this relatively inexpensive puller is the slide hammer itself. The center bore in the weight is grotesquely oversized for no good reason. This promotes off center and unbalanced force, binding the bearing you're attempting to remove. The collets must absorb the cockeyed hit without the hardness level to match the bearing. When this is repeated the hits serve to round down the collets.This tool will do the work, if you take the necessary precautions. Every dead bearing extracts differently based on age and environment. If you're unfamiliar with the safe application of heat, I suggest researching methods to enhance your success. Pro-tip - Exposing the new bearing to freezing temperature, (your home refrigerator freezer will suffice), will aid in seating the replacement into the hub with significantly less effort. This kit, when used correctly, can save you considerable frustration during incidental use. The hammer weight definitely needs attention. That’s a critical component and this one is wayyyy too sloppy.

This is a review for the 9PCS Blind Hole Collet Bearing Puller Set, Bearing Puller Set and Slide Hammer with Expandable Collets 8-32MM Insert Bearing Remover Set Tool for Automobiles, Motorcycles, MachineryThis is a heavy duty bearing puller set which comes in a good solid plastic case. The adjustable mandrels are well made and easy to adjust. The slide hammer seems to have a good mass to it and I was able to pull a couple of bearings pretty quickly and easily.I can certainly recommend this set if you have bearings and bushes to pull.

It’s definitely a slide hammer with the collets to remove bearings. It works well. All the collets thread on nicely and off nicely. The “fingers” on the collets actuate as expected and I had no issues removing a bearing from an axle. All the parts seem to be made from good quality materials. The only drawback is the T handle is rather small compared to other slide hammers I’ve used and it tends to thread off a little too easily. Maybe some will appreciate that, but I find it a small nuisance. Other than that, I have no gripes about it. Nice kit for a home garage. I am just a hobbyist working on my own stuff and this is going to come in handy for all of my projects. Appears to be good quality and the case is nice to keep the kit together and organized. Happy with the value and overall quality.

I built a tool similar to this that didn't work anywhere near as well. This puller has a mandrel that fits up inside the bearing (or bearing race). You then screw a point into the rear of it that expands the mandrel. You screw the slide hammer onto that, and after a couple pulls, the bearing comes out. Quick and easy and well-designed, with heavy-duty steel.It works, and it's going to last. It saved me so much time pulling bearings.
