The machined brass piece which is critical to its purpose did not mate with the installed valve.This is not something that can easily be modified.

It fit perfectly. In hindsite, I wouldn't have spent the extra money on the nickle version. The metal is barely visibile in my installation.

The tile around the tub was much thicker than imagined. I had nightmares of having to cut holes in the wall to adjust the valve depth, but this extension does the job, and it’s easy to install.
