About this item

  • Calibrated to OEM Specifications; Tested for impact, wear and fatigue to ensure quality and durability; Built under strict quality control standards
  • The most common sign is a noticeable "clunking" sound coming from under vehicle's floorboard; The reason this sound is made is because inner bearing has worn out and causes the two attached driveshafts to become loose during acceleration and deceleration; And you will feel a shudder on the floor board, accelerator pedal or brake pedal as you accelerate or brake
  • The purpose of center support bearing is to help support the longer drive shaft that your car depend on; The drive shaft is divided into two sections, and sits between the rear differential and the transmission; The bearing is designed to keep both parts of the driveshaft solid in order to reduce harmonic vibration as the vehicle accelerates
  • While driving, the bearing allows the drive shaft some flexibility; However, over time, the center support bearing can become worn due to it being used constantly; if there is too much flex due to a worn bearing, the vehicle may start to have problems

The Function of the Drive Shaft Center Support Bearing:

The center support bearing provides a connection point among the transmission and rear differential. The drive shaft is located within the center support bearing. This allows the drive shaft some flexibility so there is not so much stress on the driveline parts. Combined with the dust shield, housing, bearing, and rubber cushions, these parts all play an important role in absorbing the vibrations and shocks while you are driving down the road.

Symptoms of bad or failing center support bearing:

Over time, the center support bearing can become worn due to it being used constantly. There are three signs that indicate your center support bearing needs to be replaced include:

1.Noises such as squealing and grinding, especially when the vehicle is slowing down

2.Lack of performance when steering or an overall resistance when driving

3.A shuddering feeling from your vehicle while you are accelerating after a stop

As soon as you notice this problem, replace your center support bearing. Ignoring this problem can damage the differential, transmission, and the driveshaft in your vehicle.

This drive shaft support fits for the following models of Cadillac:

Being that this part fits with the bearing up. It allows the drive shaft to hit the trans/drive shaft tunnel when under hard take offs.

Noise coming from the bearing and I had a certified mechanic installed it.. on the car so I would have a question about the installation of the part 🤔

The bracket is the wrong height for CTSV applications, although the bearing is technically the right size. Returned and went for a VDC.
