I have tried them all when it comes to Silicone Sealants; and, almost without exception, no matter how careful you reseal the tube, nor which new trick you try, the next time you go to use it, the sealant will be set up in the tube and no good whatsoever - even just a week or so later.Not so concerning Pro Seal as I have first hand experience that it stays good for many years.I didn't know anything about Pro Seal, never heard of nor seen it before; until I ran upon a vendor at a fifteen-year-ago swap meet.He had both Red and Black Pro Seal RTV, tons of it, for a buck a tube.I took a chance and got a dozen tubes; six Red and six Black = a $12 investment.Probably ten years ago, I opened and used a squirt of the Red and just screwed the cap back on, figuring it would be hard as a rock in a few weeks.Then, a few days ago, I needed another squirt.I didn't really need the high heat ability; but, this Red tube had been opened and I didn't want to open another.I was sealing under the flange of a diesel fuel tank sending unit.After being so long since initially opened, I fully expected it to be hard as a rock.I was quite surprised to have it squeeze out all nice and fresh-looking.I was adjusting and fine-tuning the gauge float and arm to precision accuracy and ended up thinking I was satisfied and sealing things up and then going back in a few more times.Each time, I found the Pro Seal "seal" to be in perfect condition and doing it's job well.Also, each time, the ages-old tube of Pro Seal squirted out clean and freely and applied smoothly.Of all the many pricey name-brands of Silicone sealants I have used over the years, I have never experienced this longevity of shelf life before.Your experience may differ and this might have been a once-in-a-lifetime tube and the next behave more like the other brands; but, this has made a believer in Pro Seal products of me.
